Description
Awaken the merciless Warrior Within! Back from the brink of death the Prince has to face his most fearsome opponent yet. The mythical beast Dahaka won’t rest until our hero is dead. In his struggle for survival the Prince ventures onto the mysterious and foreboding Cursed Island, where he faces a horde of dark, demonic creatures. Fortunately, our hero isn’t the boyscout he used to be. With his newly found inner badassdom and a new arsenal of deadly weapons and fighting techniques, he’s ready for whatever danger he might encounter. Or is he?

Prince of Persia: Warrior Within builds a new layer of depth and complexity on the dynamic combat system of it’s predecessor, The Sands of Time. Freeform fighting mechanics combined with a wide range of swords, axes, maces and even improvised weapons will allow you to slay your foes with style!
  • The Prince is back in his darker, brutish incarnation.
  • Special moves and ranged attacks in a new, dynamic combat system.
  • Environments to bedazzle your eyes and puzzles to strain your mind.

Worth playing. But can be skipped.

While this game strayed away from what makes Prince of Persia what it is, this is the most fun entry in the franchise and the most memorable one in my opinion. The story isn't its strong suit but this probably has the most interesting lore of the trilogy (considering there isn't much of that in the fist place aside from the dahaka). The combat is definitely what this game shines with. It is very fun, it is the most fluid feeling system compared to the other games in this franchise. And this change fits well with the different gothic tone and the change of music (which is probably what makes all of this so memorable). This is the reason why this game should be played for! I would say that this is a must play but I would much rather recommend you play the trilogy from start to finish instead. (hell, you could even skip this game in all honesty since this game's story can literally be summarized in a paragraph) Aside from that... Definitely worth playing!

Masterpiece trilogy

The trilogy is one of a kind. It's hard to choose from these three games. Story, characters, gameplay, visuals...Perfection. Oh and the music... so beautiful. This one though it's different from the first one. The Alladin boy wannabe goes nuts and gets rebellious lol xD but it's a awesome game. For all the new fans, buy all three games, they are worth it.

Hmm...

A different direction from the previous game. Back when I played it the first time, 6 years ago, right after I finished Sands of Time, it was left in good memories. That was when the novelty factor of the game was still fresh in my mind. Now all I see are badly designed fight sequences (which are plenty) that see me falling of a cliff because the game misinterpreted my actions. The savegame system is also extremely bad, with save points sometimes being minutes apart, and sometimes half an hour apart. And the backtracking. OH HOW I HATE BACKTRACKING. And this game has it plenty, and all for the purpose of artificially lengthening the game. As it is always the case. So I quit the game at the halfway point. Sorry prince, you should have just stayed a memory, and instead I choose to revisit you, only to find a plethora of faults.

It's okay...

Mechanically this game delivers very well. Combat is challenging but fair. Parkouring is slightly improved from first PoP game. Atmosphere and setting is pretty good. The contrast between time periods is a nice tough. Well...tat's where the good stuff ends. Story is pretty bad and voice acting is terrible. If you cvame from PoP SoT expecting a good story then you'll not like this game. Soundtrack is also not great. Lot's of good ambience when exploring but combat music is mediocre alternative metal with and instrumental "I Stand Alone" by Godsmack when attacked by dahaka. I like Godsmack, but...I was still kinda thrown off and disappointed by that. This game all by itself is not too bad, but it is unremarkable and not memorable like the first installment. I did enjoy it for sometime, but quickly grew bored with it. I say pass on this one.

It's good. But...

The game, for the most part, is good. Good platforming action, great combat, astounding music. Where it suffers most is in the exploration. Depending on where in the game you are, it severely penalizes you for going to certain places looking for artwork, life upgrades, and the like. As in, you're stuck there and can't get out. Ever. Unless you glitch the game or some such. So if you're going for the true ending, you have to get all the upgrades before a certain point in the game, or else you're screwed. Make sure you keep multiple saves or else you'll have bricked your game progress. It'd be awesome if the game let you go back for this stuff with no such repercussions. Alas, it does not. So that holds it back for me. Other than that, the game is great. Buy it on sale.
