Description
What happened to the humans? Set in a post-apocalyptic world strewn with cast-off pieces of machinery, Primordia tells the story of Horatio Nullbuilt, who finds his peaceful existence threatened when a rogue robot steals his power core—the sole source of energy fueling his ship and keeping him alive. To recover it, the robot and his companion, Crispin, must leave behind their idyllic home for Metropol, the city of glass and light. Primordia is delightful, smart and packed with personality, but it also comes to a close just as you're ready to explore more of its engrossing world. Leaving the player wanting more is no great disaster, of course - and the truncated length makes it tempting to go back and try to earn some of the different endings - but it still feels like a really good game that is only a few drafts away from greatness.

There is plenty to forgive Primordia for, but if you can get past the issues and lose yourself in the game there’s a rich and emotional story waiting for you. I’m a bit of a robot nut myself and despite all of my nitpicks about the game I found myself deeply affected by the ending. There’s a lot of reasons to fight Horatio’s war and Primordia does a great job of considering all of them even if it trips a few times on the way there. If you thoroughly enjoyed games like Beneath A Steel Sky or Full Throttle, I can guarantee that you’ll find plenty to like about Primordia.

A rare failure for GadjetEye

Primordia was a hollow, dreary game, unworthy of its developer, GadjetEye. Boring gameplay, tired plot and weak characters result in a stale adventure that's simply NO FUN. Don't waste your time on this one, adventure fans.

Not For Me

I've always been a big fan of adventure games, and this one certainly has a lot of charm, but I was instantly turned off by the 'Humanism' aspect of the game. I'm sure the developers were simply taking a different take on modern religion, but I find real world humanism completely despicable ... so the running dialogue concerning Humanism was very distracting for me. I'm also not a fan of pixelated graphics. Naturally many of us were raised with pixelated graphics, such as Kings Quest, etc ... but when you have the technology to make a smooth HD game, why wouldn't you? In my opinion, there's nothing particularly charming about bad graphics ... but maybe that's just me.

Could Not Get By 1985 Low Rez Graphics

I don't know if this game is any good or not. Lots of 5 star ratings. But not from me. This game came out in 2012, yet chose to "look 8 bit style" in their pixelated graphics. Yes, I am an old DOS gamer, but I don't "relish" those clunky graphics in Quest For Glory 1-3 or Freddie Frakas Frontier Pharmacist. The decision to "give it a retro look" made me give up on it after about 30 minutes of eye agony. I can deal with low rez graphics on games from a bygone era, but not from someone trying to be "cute" in 2012. Relegated it to my "tried it out, terrible low rez, uninstalled folder. Might be a great game, but I did not stick around long enough to torture my eyes and find out.
