boring and clunky
Plays like a survival crafting game. what a disappointment. I expected a lot more after all the praise it got.

Not only Bioshock successor
At my first attempt, I wasn't able to dive into this game. But I gave it a second try and boy, I'm glad I did. Story of this game is deep and fascinating although I was much more mind-twisted with legendary Bioshock's "would you kindly". Even with other game-mechanics I believe Bioshock to be a superior game, despite it's age. Maybe it's just that I had a feeling the game discourages me to fully explore Typhon's abilities as I was instructed that I will (may) loose my humanity in the process. + 20hrs+ gameplay + choices do matter (even though not as much as your last ones) + cool enviroment - Station inside and outside + mimics + lot of options to play the game (stealth, engineer, "typhon-wizard" etc.) - hardship in the beggining - only a few trully effective weapons (Shotgun, Q-beam)

Good first half, terrible second half.
The first half of this game is amazing. You explore a beautiful space ship with a lot enviromental storytelling. There are a lot of way to solve problems thanks to the wealth of systems in the game. However, around the half point, everything becomes more linear and stale. The enviroments are less intriguing, there are less ways to solve problems, and the game becomes a chore. Combat devolves into waiting for psy points to charge so you can damage the enemy, as all your bullets will be used up on the spongey enemies. (spoilers) I would say the bad half begins when you go into deep storage. If your a big fan of immersive sims, i would recommend this game on sale.

Best immersive sim
Prey offers a wonderful combination of a great story, brilliant gameplay mechanics, good graphics, and a rich world with a lot of small background stories of each character dead and alive and so much replayability with many choices. Some immersive sims such as system shock 2 or deus ex of course have a higher historical significance but Prey's whole package takes the genre even further. I replayed Prey many times and do not regret having done so. I just wish there was a worthy sequel especially considering how the game ended in such an open-ended fashion. For those who want to play the game, I'd recommend playing it your favourite way on your first go and then also get some help from guides to discover the game's full content. The game is massive and I am confident that most players would not be able to explore it fully without some additional reading.
