Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition Official Soundtrack
Description
Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition includes the unaltered original version and the Enhanced Edition in one definitive collection exclusively on GOG.com. (The original version will be automatically added to your account after purchase.) The original Planescape: Torment was released in 1999 to widespread critical acclaim. It won RPG of the Year from multiple outlets for its unconventional story, characters, and amazing soundtrack. Since then, millions of Planescape: Torment fans have enjoyed exploring the strange and dangerous city of Sigil and surrounding planes through the Nameless One's eyes.

Discover an incredibly rich story and a setting unlike anything else in fantasy. Defeat strange and alien creatures, engage in rich dialogue, and explore the dark and dangerous Planescape setting in this 50+ hour RPG classic.

This is Planescape: Torment like you’ve never seen before."What can change the nature of a man?" - You are the Nameless One, a hulking figure covered in scars and tattoos collected over the course of countless lives—none of which you can remember, but are now coming back to haunt you. You are prodded awake by Morte, a floating skull and keeper of secrets, to embark on an adventure taking The Nameless One from the dirty streets of Sigil into the mysterious Outer Planes and even into the depths of Hell itself.

Portals riddle the planar metropolis of Sigil, providing access to anywhere in existence, but only if you have the proper key. Known as the "City of Doors," Sigil is a neutral ground where demons, devas, and races from across the multiverse gather under the watchful shadow of the Lady of Pain, the city's enigmatic ruler. This is a place where the word is mightier than the sword, where thought defines reality, and belief has the power to reshape worlds.

In your search for answers, you'll find companions matching the bizarre nature of the planes: a chaste succubus who can kill with a kiss, a confused crossbow-wielding cube, a suit of armor animated by a spirit demanding JUSTICE, and more. With these companions and others at The Nameless One’s side, you will explore worlds in search of answers, all to discover that some destinies cannot be escaped and some memories cost more than an even an immortal can bear.

Rekindled my love for Planescape

I was one of the few that purchased this game on CD release (and still have it...), and have repurchased it everytime it has come onto a platform (complete with mods). But this is honestly the best version I have played so far. Its sheer ease of use, and updating of all the little niggly things that were annoying first time round, and the general experience has been improved dramatically. All in all, it is what I want from a remastered game in every way. Highly recommended, and ignore the moaners and whiners trying to bring the review score down, they are nothing but an insult to the hard work and effort made by not only Beamdog in updating this (yes, they *have* done a lot of work, regardless of what you may think), but also to the original programmers and developers who want more people to enjoy their vision and how it was meant to be than did first time around.

I don't support original removal...

I don't support removal of buying the original separately, *ever*, or devs that do such. It's just a way for a remake (poor or not) to piggyback off the original game, including charging you more for it (cash grab) and not having to compete with the original in price or enjoyment. In that, the game and devs have already reviewed the game for me and marked it as DO NOT BUY or support us, this game is terrible. We couldn't compete with the original and even had to include it with this version to steal those sales and reviews. Beamdog are the pinnacle of such terrible practices. Worse, they show themselves as unprofessional with their entitled, childish, SJW/woke attitude by insulting anyone who doesn't praise EVERYTHING about their downgrades. So, beyond the above paragraph, I will never buy from Beamdog and advise anyone else to do the same and get the original elsewhere. Buying this to get the original or giving 5 stars, but meaning it for the original, supports this worthless company and encourages them, WotC, Hasbro and GOG in these *very* CUSTOMER UNFRIENDLY practices. Luckily, I picked these and others up before the downgrades and when the name GOG still meant GOOD and OLD (classic). Beamdog is neither. Since the original *and* it's page were removed, look at this link (the most recent archive of the original) for reviews, ratings and screenshots to compare with the current version, not to mention requirements, goodies, languages, etc of the original: https://web.archive.org/web/20170411155744/http://www.gog.com/game/planescape_torment

The most overrated game of all-time

So the original Baldur's Gate saga are my favorite games of all time, with Morrowind a close second. I loved Fallout and Fallout 2. Obsidian's Tyranny is also a favorite of mine. Now you know where I'm coming from. I'd heard of Planescape Torment all my life, and with the immense praise it receives, and the top-ten lists it occupies, I had always considered it a must-play. That's why I was surprised and saddened to see that it not only doesn't live up to the hype, it's actually not a good game. I knew that it would be dialogue and story focused, and less about gameplay; I like that! Maybe it would've been great as a visual novel. Unfortunately, it isn't that. It's a bad CRPG with terrible, tedious quest design and a world cluttered with useless NPCs and dead-end dialogue. The initial plot hook is really neat and seemed promising. You wake up from a cold slab in a mortuary. You have no memory, no name, and it's clear that this is not the first time you've "died." Sadly, over the course of the next several hours, you'll find yourself no closer to an answer; instead, you'll have to wade through tedious, soul-crushingly boring NPCs that almost have silly fetch quests to give. The main-plot quests are poorly designed, and it's easy to get stuck over and over again (it's a safe bet you'll be consulting guides and walkthroughs). Here's an example (SPOILER): You're initially charged with finding someone. You figure out you have to get through a portal but don't know how. Your sidekick tells you to that someone in the area should know. Talking to everyone in the area yields tedious quests that you assume will get the information, but they're dead-ends. The one and ONLY character who can tell you happens to be the LAST person you would think you had to talk to again. Ughh.... The sad part is, I suspect that there might be an interesting main story buried underneath all the terrible, tedious quests and boring NPCs. But it's just not worth it.

The game is okay

I appreciated and enjoyed the novelties this game brings. The story is interesting but marred by a whirlwind of dialogues and monologues swirling around everywhere. The graphics can be seen. That's it.
