Well, what to say, it is super for kids and parents, playable with keyboard, controller or combination. Two gamepads are also supported (we use two X-input combatible gamepads).
The game has one big level (or map), where you need to go from the beginning to the end and eat as mayn as you can, to get keys and unlock doors and get to the next area on the map. The final point is to go to the big pizza. However there are many obsticles, especially in form of the "police" animals, that will chase you, the thief/food eater. 😁
We had many laughs, while playing and will definitely come back for more.
Works really well on AMD Ryzen 5500U, 16 GB RAM, Radeon Vega 7 integrated, Windows 11 23H2 64-bit on 1920 x 1080 px resolution and V-Sync turned on.
I bet this is a great game for kids, the world and its characters are all very cutesy and cartooney, and all the violence is Looney Tunes style dust clouds. The controls could not be simpler, its just your 4 direction keys and a use item button. Your goal is simple, eat all of the food while not getting caught, eating food fills your progress meter, get it full and you'll get a key to unlock the next area but don't get caught. Eating food also fills a second progress bar that unlock new items for you to use such as speed potions or road blocks that you can use for more options to evade the cops, and there are a ton of these items to unlock.
The more new area's of the world you unlock the bigger of a playground you get to run around in and the more spots where food spawns are available for you and its all one level. Things can get very hectic too if your not careful enough to not get spotted, the cops will follow you until they lose sight of you, luckily there are hiding spots (bushes) but make sure the cops don't see you jumping in or they'll jump in after you.
Evading the cops feels great, it is possible to have a large group following you and still get away by watching their movements and weaving your own movement correctly, its hard but doable.
The world looks great and is not linear, there are so many paths to unlock, running around in the world trying to find all the ways you can traverse its winding streets and dodging cops feels great.
Like I said I think this is a great game for kids, and a lot of fun for adults as well. Give it a try if you enjoy running around and exploring a cutesy world, stealing all the food you can, and dodging all those persistent cops either by stealth or by running and using special items to outsmart them. What a fun and fantastic game.
If you are looking for some casual, family friendly, slightly silly fun with the option for couch co-op (not required) hard to go past Pizza Possum.
Reminds me of Overcooked in its lighthearted chaotic gameplay.
If I could make a recommendation, online co-op would be a nice enhancement although, the couch part of the co-op is half the fun.
This game is perfect on the surface. It boots up without any "fluff" (goes straight into the the game after a loading screen and no t&c, hallelujah) plays fun both in single player and co-op. There are two distinct ways to play this game encourages for different parts of the game. The first is a "crazy opossum rampage" that is incredibly addicting for the first 2/3 of the game. The last 1/3 is nearly a stealth game, which is untelegraphed and therefore can be annoying, but overall, with the stealth mechanics, and simple mechanic exploits, it's not bad overall.
The reason I say the game "may cause issues" stems from the game's desire to be resource intensive on my computer. When I play this game on Windows 10, the fans blast and I lose battery power insanely quickly (40% in 15 minutes if not plugged in). This doesn't appear to be a common problem, and I recall that issues like this stem from new developers, but it is an issue to keep in mind, especially if you're like me with these conditions; wants to play offline co-op with friends and family on the go (potentially), on an above-decent gaming laptop (3.30 GHz processor, 16GB RAM, Windows 10 64 bit).
The game starts off fun. Your goal is to collect as much food as possible while avoiding guards, and unlocking more and more sections of the map as you inch closer and closer to the final area with the giant pizza. It's a nice arcadey concept and I was actually enjoying the game for a while.
But then I hit a brick wall, because apparently it was considered a perfectly good idea to make the last section a gauntlet of tightly packed rooms with enemies everywhere and nowhere to hide. After multiple attempts at trying to get the giant pizza, and realizing that the only conceivable way to get it would be to repeatedly run in there and try to eat as much of it as possible while being constantly chased by 5+ enemies in narrow corridors (each of which can one-hit-kill you, mind you), I came to the conclusion that it's time to refund.
Shame, really. It seemed really fun at first...
