The game itself would be great. However i personally encountered performance issues that makes this game unplayable. There is huge delay in mouse clicks and typing, The graphics often glitch (like you need to move your cursor around to "swipe" away the old windows, images, etc.). Unless a solution or bug fixes are found for those issues, I say wait with the purchase for some great deal.
I loved the predecessor back in the days... so I wanted to give this one a try. But, as others already mentioned, there is a huge delay in mouseclicks and typing. The game is not unplayable, but it's quite frustrating and taking away the fun. Because of this, I didn't play more then two (ingame) days and went back to Pizza Tycoon 1
As some of the other reviewers said, the game itself is great but it's unplayable in it's current state.
It's very hard to select something on the screen. In fact so hard, that I was already very bothered with it in the first menus. GOG, please give us a fixed version because this is not enjoyable at all.
So yeah, it's almost unplayable out of the box, but after dropping a .dll on the game's folder, all the mouse and click glitches are gone. Super easy fix. Look for DDrawCompat if you're having issues.
Leaving aside the trivial technical issues, the game's age definitely shows on the gameplay. You CAN'T control the simulation speed, so a lot of the time you'll be just watching at the screen, waiting for the time to pass, and when the in-game hour is 8PM, and you need to see something reflected at 7PM, then you might as well leave the PC on and go water your plants, make a burrito, and read the latest news.
The difficulty is trivial once you start to figure out how to set your stores, and subsequent play troughs will be pointless unless you're bored enough to set some self-imposed challenges.
Lastly, if you're itching for a management game in which you control a restaurant, look elsewhere. The restaurant management part is shallow, and it gives a 3X vibe instead: You need to eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate... but with pizza restaurants.
