Depends of what you want of an RPG
Second DLC was a disappointement for me. Was never a big fan of combat focused RPGs like Icewind Dale, and this DLC is, as advertised, a whole lot of fights. I wouldn't mind the fights if there was a higher level cap, but you're still capped at 20. So if you finished the game and done first DLC (Beast of Winter) you're for sure at level cap. With no progression for your PCs I would recommend that you begin the challenges and hunts at mid to high level. In my second playthrough I'll go through Seeker Slayer Survivor before Beast of Winter, and sprinkle those challenges between story quests. Still, what you get is really good content. You've got a whole arena with lot of challenging and clever fights. Some of them are really interresting because they're unusual in their composition. You wouldn't barge in these kind of fights while adventuring. You get hunts, that are scripted usual PoE events or fights. Doing those hunts unlock you more challenges at the arena. The more you advance in challenges the sweeter the rewards. Overall, it's a neat system. Not my cup of tea, would prefer a DLC more focused on a narrative, but good. Looking forward to the Forgotten Sanctum.
