Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire

PoE1 never really clicked with me, I think the world was just to grim-dark. But PoE2 that that much lighter I really enjoyed it. Interesting new story line and good recap of PoE1 pulled me in and made want to explore every part of the Deadfire. Great ship to ship battle mechanic kept the sailing bits interesting and the DLC is worth looking at too.

I liked the first Pillars of Eternity very much and i like Deadfire even more. I think that everything has improved vs the first one. Graphics are just beautiful, the world is much bigger and more diverse, the story is captivating and i think that adding the possibility to choose turn-based combat was a great idea - on one hand it sometimes makes fights last very long but at the same time they seem much more engaging.

+ interesting premise + well written, likeable characters + complex, interesting RPG / Combat system + good soundtrack - the pirate / island setting just doesnt do it for me - lacking focus, too many side quests - some factions seem similar, unclear who does what All in all a clear recommendation for fans of classical RPGs, but a slight letdown compared to its predecessor.

Absolute beautiful game. Sure the main quest is a bit short, but the side quests are immensely long and extremely fun! You have four factions to choose from and they all have unique characteristics. I love the companions and sidekicks. This game is really worth all the money.

i just loved how it all flows together in the end. it tells you what all your actions cause in the aftermath of completeing the game. I was woried that it wouldnt let me do what i wanted to but in the end my wish came true.
