Phoning Home

Especially for a free to play title, this is a masterpiece. After perhaps a bit slower start, the story gets going and takes pretty dark turns. It is a very nice scifi, playing with philosophical concepts of space exploration and post-human universe. Mechanically perhaps not perfect, had some strangeness with traversal, but nothing game breaking. Had a few moments where I felt like I didn't do the intended solution, and could use more guidance. But overall, there is a variety of puzzles, and while the base loop is exploration and gathering , the game keeps throwing in something new at a reasonable pace. And the companion can be a bit annoying, but also endearing, especially if you have time to follow all the dialogue. Absolutely worth the game time and especially for a free title 5/5 with no regrets.

I have to say really really do love this game!!!! i really love the estetics, the sound and "look and feel" of the game. for me the navigating and finding my way around was sometime a little to hard but i guess thats part of the intended experice.. also i think this game does a poor job at explaining its mechanics witch is a same for a product looks and sounds so nice. but i also have to say that i think that the develepers did a reaally good job at balancing the amout and places of the recourses, witch i think was a pretty hard job for this game! really well done! :D

Beautiful and Captivating. I absolutely loved this game. The story, the characters.... and the controls were easy. Many hours of gameplay. I really hope a sequel is in the works.

Phoning Home is indie developer ION LANDS love letter to storytelling and boasts a tale that really is worth telling. Players take control of ION, a small robot stranded on an alien world filled with dangerous weather, dangerous monsters, and the remnants of an ancient civilization with secrets long buried. Phoning Home is the first indie game in a long time that looks and plays like an AAA title. The production values and writing are worthy of the big names in gaming, and ION LANDS has pulled off a great story with a game engine that does exactly what it sets out to do--engage and satisfy.
