Immerse yourself in Ancient Egypt from the age of the great pyramids to the final years of the New Kingdom. Govern all aspects of the exotic Egyptian, culture from religion to trading with distant cities. Cultivate vast farms in the Nile valley and discover the important role this river, with its unpredictable floods, played in the life of the Egyptians. Stone by stone, erect giant monuments - from the Sphinx, to the lighthouse and library of Alexandria.
Manage your city poorly and you shall watch it burn, be pillaged or collapse in economic ruin. Manage it well and ultimately the greatest Egyptian structures will be built in your honor. Your rule will span generations, until your dynasty, your royal bloodline produces a Pharaoh!
Pharaoh includes many features never before seen in a city building game, such as a farming model based on the flooding of the Nile, naval warfare, giant monuments that are assembled over time, unique dynastic progression, and variable difficulty levels. This a massively addictive, huge, but most importantly fun game that is a great choice for anyone looking for a solid city builder title, or an intellectual challenge.
Pharaoh Cleopatra bundle includes Pharaoh and Cleopatra: Queen of the Nile expansion.
A city-builder gem, made by the creators of the award-winning Caesar III.
Extensive help section not only does an excellent job at explaining the game mechanics, but also contains many interesting facts and trivia about life in Ancient Egypt.

I had played this game long time ago, so when I saw it here in GOG I bought just to relieve my memory of it, wasn't planning on playing it too much. That didn't happen though, I see myself playing the game all the time, it still holds up pretty well even now. Its a very good game, with nice visuals and soundtrack, worth playing for sure.
This was my very first city builder. At first I was a bit skeptical and did not like how things went about in the game. But, as I spent countless hours trying to figure out how things work, it became clear, that game is a bit complex and you have to do things properly or things get out of control very easily, very fast.
The campaign is really well laid out. The pacing is good and the missions a re very challenging later on.
The sound is good, controls are easy and intuitive.
Overall a very very good game, on which I have spent countless hours playing, trying to get water to that one bloody house which just does not rank up.
This is one of those rare games that I just keep coming back to. I discovered it during my childhood when I used to rent games from the local Video Kingdom. Ever since then, it's like that lover you just can't really get over. Every once and a while, I get an urge to play this game. No matter how old I get, this game just never seems to fully fade into my past.
If you like city builders, this one is a good Egyptian themed one. It has industry micromanagement, supply chains, military campaigns, and more. While it has its flaws and is certainly a very dated game, it's still better than some modern games in the genre. That's not a compliment I give lightly. This is the oldest game I still continue to come back to.
Although, Pharaoh was no part of my childhood, I am very pleased with it. In my childhood I played a lot of Caesar IV, a game, which I still love and admire (where actually is the sequel? Please, write me if you know something about a Caesar V or so). Pharaoh is like a two-dimensional older brother of Caesar IV, born in Egypt (and reborn by following this link: http://www.wsgf.org/dr/cleopatra-queen-nile/en).
Pharaoh is so much fun! It is true that in the beginning, the game is not that easy, because money runs out quite quickly. But hard work is rewarded very fast, too: There are unique buildings. The reactions of the Gods make sense (oh yeah, that is quite a rarity nowadays!). Very often you must import products from other cities, so you have to think very economically. The Ancient Egypt setting in combination with the music is brilliant. I just cannot believe the year the game was published. I am very surprised by the fact how overwhelming a seemingly out-of-date, two dimensional game can be.
Sorry, I cannot write more, because OSIRIS NEEDS ME, and YOU, so bow to him and become his slave forever!
This game is awesome , i spent a lot of time playing this game when i was a child, 100% recommended.
But i have a problem when the structure is active with all of the necessary workers, it dont change to the active animation, for example when you build a gold mine they appear empty but when they have all the workers he appears with an animation in this case the gold mine show a gold color.
Thanks !!!!
