Curtis Craig is a quiet young man. He has a steady job working for the WynTech Industries corporation. He has a lovely girlfriend, Jocilyn. He's been out of the mental hospital for exactly one year. All Curtis wants is to live a normal, happy life, but something seems to have other plans... Strange events, inexplicable and terrifying, begin to happen all around him. Curtis begins to doubt his own sanity, and the very fabric of reality.
Then... The murders begin...
A psychological horror story from the blackest depths of the human soul
A compelling story with interesting characters
An intense atmosphere not meant for the faint of heart
If, like me, you love to watch old horror movies, particularly with friends, this title definitely has something to offer.
A legitimately interesting story that has dark turns that will surprise and shock you. Characters that'll make you groan, make you laugh, and make you sympathetic. And, most importantly, a level of campiness that keeps some of the frustration from running clicking on everything more tolerable.
Of course the campiness is looking from a modern perspective, but I think it's an enjoyable part of the experience.
I love Sierra - and so when they announced Phantasmagoria II back in the day (and I loved the first one!) - I couldn't wait! I thought it'd pick up from the first (either follow the character[s] or the house further) - but... no. It deals with Curtis. A guy stuck in a dead end job. Unhappy. But then there's sex scenes... with glimpses of nudity... and then... there's Hell. Wait. What? The game takes some VERY strange turns and I feel like, you need to be on a mind altering drug at times, to follow or even hope to understand what's happening. I am giving it 3 stars, just because it is a Sierra game; but honestly, had it been another company, this would probably be a 2 star at most.
The first one was amazing so of course I bought this when it came out.
I had a problem near the end. I think like it's predecessor there are puzzles that if you don't finish right, it's impossible to finish or go back and fix. This happened to me at the very last puzzle.
Not a bad game over all and of course I'm picking it up again.
Lots of fun point and click puzzle/adventure.
