16 Color IBM PC version. Not recommended.
I actually started out on this game using an Atari ST, eventually bought the Amiga version. Both are visually superior to this version and have a larger color palette. As a teenager I found this game fun, scary, difficult, and yet it challenged me to try many different things in making progress. I figured out how to make progress in the game and get close to the end long before the internet and walkthroughs. As a 15 year old at the time playing this game, I'm not sure how people today are complaining that they can't figure out a text adventure with graphics. At 15 I used a sledgehammer in the vicar's house to see a mummified remains hidden behind a wall, then used secateurs to remove the fingers. I like horror movies and games to this day. Anyway, if you like horror games or enjoyed Elvira or Jaws of Cerberus this will feel the same sans all the combat of those two. Do yourself a favor and play the Amiga or Atari ST version though - one had 3 diskettes and the other had 5 but with greatly improved visuals. Make many save games to revert back - like some reviews mention you have a limited time window to do a number of things to finish the game.
