The game punishes you for your work.
If you use any gear other than the starting gear at the very beginning of the game, you receive a very bad ending. Putting in the work to get the "good ending" is tedious, requires a walkthrough, and the final runs are slow, difficult, and incredibly boring. The "good ending" itself sucks. Seriously, don't fool your players and don't waste your players' time.

Broken
Perish crashes almost immediately if you try to play it offline. Some people want to stay offline, so it is completely unplayable for us. I can't help but wonder if this is deliberate, bucking against the no DRM policy? Prodeus and Dusk are much better options.

It Has DRM
If you try to play the game offline, it will crash... it has never been "fixed", so it seems to be a deliberate attempt to sneak in DRM where it's not supposed to be on GOG.
