The music is good, the gameplay is fun, it's cool little game. Not very imaginative with its secrets or unlockables but it's a nice way to spend an afternoon, or maybe longer if you're into speedrunning.
I usually don't like platformers because it's hard to do anything new, but the music combined with the tight controls makes this a pleasure to play.
The level design is very good, they always give you a hint about what the level will be about in the beginning instead of pestering you with tutorials.
2D platformer that focuses on movement. I enjoyed my time with it. Played 100% of it on Steam Deck.
(+) Runs great on Steam Deck.
(+) I liked the artstyle and soundtrack, not really memorable, but enjoyable
(+) Movement is GREAT. Drilling and zipping through the stages was amazing and each world introduced a "different" mechanic.
(+) Great boss battles
(-) The mechanic of the last world was not good. Felt kinda clunky to control.
(-) Really really short game, wish it was longer.
I remember seeing this game compared to Celeste, and honestly I can't really understand why. It's a good game, but it doesn't do anything to be truly great.
The story is pretty much non-existent, which isn't too bad since that's not really why people play platformers, but it does make the characters rather forgettable.
Visually the game is decent, charming character designs and pixel art, but it isn't going to wow you.
Music is good, some catchy tracks and a lot of drum & bass, but it wouldn't even get in my top 10 soundtracks. I can't really remember any of the tracks off the top of my head.
Gameplay wise there's lots of variety and the drilling is a fun way to make the game stand out, it almost feels wrong to call it a platformer because you rarely are actually jumping around. The game is adding new mechanics every world while virtually every level has unique gimmicks that make them distinct.
The biggest issue with the game is that it's very short, only 20 levels including the secret ones and 4 bosses, and the levels are generally very short being beatable in a few minutes if you do it all in one go. and it's nowhere near as hard as something like Celeste. I pretty much 100%'d the game in 5 hours.
I may have had my expectations unfairly high, as while I was expecting a bit more it's still a very good platformer and I prefer harder games than most people. It's a bit short for the price, but on sale it's a no-brainer if you enjoy platformers.
