Patrician 3

Well, Patrician III was a hidden gem back in 2002: german made game about trade and society in the days of German Hanse. These days people do see old medieval era with it´s good and bad as a romantic period of history. And the game is also very romantic and really beautiful graphically. This is, what makes this one different from any other trading game: it is not dry, because it has so much vibe of medieval romanticism in it. Comparing it to its successor: Patrician IV, this game has a soul and the latter has not... All those texts in the game are given in a witty medieval way, the graphics, although dated, seems exremely nice, the dogs wag their tales, you can go to chuch and prey... As a summary, Patrician III has aged well. Like an old wine. Sadly, the company, that made this gem, is long gone. And the game rights now belong to the other company, which is not interested in creating a new Patrician III worthy title...

I' ve played Patrician 2 and 3 for about 15 years now and also played Patrician 4. I dare say that Patrician 3 is my all time and all-genre favourite game. Its depth and gameplay are simply amazing.

I start to get really pissed off by GOG. The game is great and exactly the simple trading game to catapult me back to childhood "hanse". Nice. But the widescreen fixes do not work, because GOG´s version does not create "P2setup.exe" - so you can´t run it in order to run the patched version. A user here created a another one - will try that, but I see myself editing the HEX. Back to the "pissing me off": the backup installers are the one and only thing that sets GOG apart - how often do I have to download multiple times parts? You might assume, once you have them verified and the game running, you have working BACKUP files stored on your drive - NOPE; try to re-install and you face the same process again. Then the renaming of files and versions (TW3 - why would anyone want a "complete" edition - just keep it GOTY and add the patch ffs - ah yes, it is easier to hide your crap galaxy inside this trash) Then the weird glitches on this very page and that godawful Galaxy.... So, probably editing hex for a 20 year old game because gog likes to "update" core files - always bought on gog if possible, but i am very close to stop that

Limiting to as few words as possible, a Masterpiece, already have the game on cd but it is wearing down, nice to know I can replace it, and just for the record it works on 10 aswell, or it does on this one, every bit as good as any classic could ever be, and the inspiration for many more, and such an easy interface and fully adjustable AI, I could only improve it because I'm a perfectionist by nature, but all it really needs is 21st century graphics.

ich kann mich der rezension von jamotide (bei 1&2 bundle) anschliessen... it's a nice add-on for my 2 lil i4770/i4790 4gb gpu 8/16gb ram win10 pc's; on them i play older pc (90's - early2010's)/dos/amiga-emu games...still looking out for older cheap games on sale...
