Discover the Story
Your path will lead you to the Worldwound, where the opening of a rift to the Abyss has unleashed all-consuming terror across the land. For over a century, the neighboring nations have fought fearlessly, trying to drive the enemy back — but to little avail.
Now, you have the chance to put an end to this conflict, but the path to salvation is far from clear-cut. Will you become a shining angel, backed by noble paladins? Or a powerful necromancer with hordes of immortal undead in your thrall? Or something else entirely? Lead your army and challenge mighty demon lords. Your crusade will set in motion a chain of events that will leave you — and the world itself — forever changed.
PLAY YOUR HERO, YOUR WAY
Create any character imaginable with the flexibility, richness, and depth of the Pathfinder First Edition ruleset. Choose from 25 classes, 12 character races, and more than a thousand spells, feats, and abilities to suit your personal playstyle.
FOR EVERY CHOICE, A CONSEQUENCE
Your decisions have more weight than ever before. Your goal is clear, but you must forge your own path to it. Who will die, and who will live? Who will stay, and who will go? Make your choices, and watch the world around you change.
A NEW WAY TO FIGHT
Enjoy two combat modes as you slay your enemies – real-time with pause or turn-based. Switch between them on the fly, so you can always take things as slowly — or as quickly — as you like. The unique Pathfinder ruleset also allows you to perform advanced combat maneuvers, like mounted combat. Use them wisely!
GATHER YOUR PARTY
A cast of more than 10 unique companions is ready to join your cause. Earn their trust and respect, and they will have your back no matter what dangers lie ahead. And if you get on their bad side, well… Maybe it’s time to part ways.
LEAD THE CRUSADE
You will need much more than a party of adventurers to cleanse the land of its demonic scourge. Take command of the crusaders and lead them to victory – both as a strategist, controlling the battle from above, and as a field commander, in a new tactical combat mode.
CHOOSE YOUR PATH
Explore nine unique Mythic Paths: obtain extraordinary abilities and shape everything that comes next. Your decisions might transform you into a celestial Angel, a raging Demon, a powerful Lich, a cunning Trickster, an otherworldly Aeon, a rebellious Azata, a wise Gold Dragon, an insatiable Swarm That Walks — or remain mortal and walk the arduous path toward becoming a living Legend.

Kingmaker is probably one of my favorite CRPGs ever, ticking all my boxes. Wrath looks set to improve upon Kingmaker in every way. The amount of replayability from all the build options and mythic paths is amazing, and the combat is as enjoyable as ever. Being able to flip seamlessly from Real Time and Turn Based at any moment just shames all other games in the genre (looking at you, BG3, POE2...). Not to mention the slo mo button, "tactical time flow", a feature so good I've been trying to mod it into every other RTwP game I play.
It's certainly not a game for everyone, a bit like Dark Souls or something. But for those who crave this kind of game, it's nearly perfect.
After 80 hours of play, here my feelings :
- The graphic engine has been improved and is now full 3D. There is some camera problems sometimes, but nothing to prevent you from playing or having fun
- Owlcat games had done a great work on the initial state of the game: the game is 100% playable without major bugs, and we can count on them to fix the remaining bugs game quickly. You can play at the game right now!
- Awesome characters and an Epic story that thrills!
- The most complete character customization in CRPG history. You think of a particular character, you can create it!
- A really cool crusade system (like HMM), but without too much complexity. and with good story arcs when the scenario unfold. It's always a pleasure to switch to the crusade system when you've done with your party.
- An incredible replayability : you're playing a good guy? Then try with an evil badass :)
A must of the genre and an awesome work! GG Owlcat!
I'm somewhat confused by the mediocre ratings for this game. Yes, it's buggy at times, and if you're particularly unlucky on your saving throws you might even encounter something game breaking. 'Save often, save early' was always good advice for any kind of RPG and it's somewhat sad that this translates into the state of the software nowadays, but you gotta cut the developers some slack. This game is - at it's current state - in far better condition than other major RPG players like Skyrim or Cyberpunk were at the same time after their initial release. I have not encountered anything that really hinders my joy and that could not be undone by a quick reload. So most of the time, at least for me, this game works.
And when it works it works brilliantly. The story and speed of progression is amazing. After 50 hours I am right in the thick of it, with lots and lots of adventures still in front of me. The difficulty spike is rather hard, even compared to other CRPGs. Personally I do not like all the 'meta-gaming' you have to do in order to suceed even on a normal difficulty, and the game misses out on some quality of life features. You better come prepared with scrolls and potions in order to do some buffing in the early hours of the game (hence you practially can't rest after every encounter). Still, the fights are so far very fair and square, with of course some rather difficult ones in between. I don't possess a deep knowledge of the ruleset and often I simply do not understand how things work in detail (why the f*** can't I hit that damn ghost?!), but mostly I get around.
The Crusade mode starts out slow, but turns out to be a nice change of pace from your adventuring lifestyle. To me the installment of MC as leader of the crusade felt believable and sure makes for some fun roleplaying mechanics.
Overall I recommend this game without any hesitation to anyone who likes CRPGs, especially if you've played and enjoyed Kingmaker.
Spent almost 200 hours in the game.
The game is full of bugs: randomly disappearing items; feats and abilities that don't work; textures that will grapple you; never ever ending cutscenes; etc.
I don't mind the difficulty by the way, but an attempt to implement an already cumbersome and unintuitive tabletop system was probably doomed from the start (yes, I played Kingmaker and even finished it). Also, Russian localization was abysmal, had no choice but to switch to English.
Won't recommend it unless you have a need for constant character building or extremely toxic and conservative communities (like 3.e communities tend to be in general).
