Brace yourself for new adventures set in your favorite universe thanks to the The Last Sarkorians DLC!

You can also get Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous - Season Pass here.

You can also get Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous - Season Pass 2 here.

Discover the Story

Your path will lead you to the Worldwound, where the opening of a rift to the Abyss has unleashed all-consuming terror across the land. For over a century, the neighboring nations have fought fearlessly, trying to drive the enemy back — but to little avail.

Now, you have the chance to put an end to this conflict, but the path to salvation is far from clear-cut. Will you become a shining angel, backed by noble paladins? Or a powerful necromancer with hordes of immortal undead in your thrall? Or something else entirely? Lead your army and challenge mighty demon lords. Your crusade will set in motion a chain of events that will leave you — and the world itself — forever changed.

PLAY YOUR HERO, YOUR WAY

Create any character imaginable with the flexibility, richness, and depth of the Pathfinder First Edition ruleset. Choose from 25 classes, 12 character races, and more than a thousand spells, feats, and abilities to suit your personal playstyle.

FOR EVERY CHOICE, A CONSEQUENCE

Your decisions have more weight than ever before. Your goal is clear, but you must forge your own path to it. Who will die, and who will live? Who will stay, and who will go? Make your choices, and watch the world around you change.

A NEW WAY TO FIGHT

Enjoy two combat modes as you slay your enemies – real-time with pause or turn-based. Switch between them on the fly, so you can always take things as slowly — or as quickly — as you like. The unique Pathfinder ruleset also allows you to perform advanced combat maneuvers, like mounted combat. Use them wisely!

GATHER YOUR PARTY

A cast of more than 10 unique companions is ready to join your cause. Earn their trust and respect, and they will have your back no matter what dangers lie ahead. And if you get on their bad side, well… Maybe it’s time to part ways.

LEAD THE CRUSADE

You will need much more than a party of adventurers to cleanse the land of its demonic scourge. Take command of the crusaders and lead them to victory – both as a strategist, controlling the battle from above, and as a field commander, in a new tactical combat mode.

CHOOSE YOUR PATH

Explore nine unique Mythic Paths: obtain extraordinary abilities and shape everything that comes next. Your decisions might transform you into a celestial Angel, a raging Demon, a powerful Lich, a cunning Trickster, an otherworldly Aeon, a rebellious Azata, a wise Gold Dragon, an insatiable Swarm That Walks — or remain mortal and walk the arduous path toward becoming a living Legend.

It's bigger, it's better, it's badder

If the first game was Baldur’s Gate, this one is Baldur’s Gate 2 with all good and bad this brings. The characters are more interesting right of the bat and are more fleshed out from the get go. The main story is simpler than Kingmaker’s was but has some intriguing implications especially for certain mythic paths. Speaking of the mythic paths, they all get to shine and make your character much more unique than they were in Kingmaker. Some of them change how the entire story unfolds and even how the gameplay works out. The main antagonist is good, with an interesting motivation and a very big plan. That being said, Jon Irenicus she is not. The game has possibly the longest campaign out of any rpg and yet it is very well paced. The breathtaking number of choices in builds is still here, as expected from Pathfinder 1st Edition. The visuals are about the same on the technical side but depict much more interesting locations. The soundtrack is a strong candidate for the title of best OST in any rpg. So far so good right? Well… Although WOTR is not the dumpster fire that Kingmaker was at release, the bugs are still present. Thankfully they start to really crop up after dozens of hours and Owlcat are working around the clock to fix the major ones. The Alfred Pennyworth school of monologue is still giving degrees in blabbermouthology so npcs will spout paragraph upon paragraph of uninteresting details almost every time you ask them a simple question. It’s not as bad as Kingmaker but it’s still annoying. The Crusade/Kingdom Management is a prime example of the old saying: One step forward, two steps back. It doesn’t make you waste take supporting your advisors (who you don’t get to pick) but it is also much more detached from the main story. So, is it worth it? Yes it is, but only if are into this sort of experience. The final rating is 4/5 because of the bugs and the writing style. If it was bug free it would probably be a 5/5 with an asterisk.

Broken

I'm sure this is a great game for others, but I spent hours even getting it to install, run somewhat properly and it still isn’t in state where it is fun to play. A game in this state should not be for sale.

If in doubt, don't

Many people, myself included, will buy this game now that a certain youtuber recommended the game. I made a good faith effort and got through the first 2 chapters, and frankly even 10 hours deep I still have no idea what's going on with the mechanics. I don't know why I get sneak attacks when my team isn't in stealth, or why they sneak attack me when I can see them. I get why grease is good, but I don't get why my mage has to walk up to the enemy to cast it sometimes and other times they do it from across the room, nor can I figure out how to stop my fighters from walking into on autopilot. Every time I look at the feat page my brain loses a wrinkle and my eyes glaze over. Could I just use a premade build? Sure, but I won't know why the build is good, if I don't like the build I'm screwed, and it won't help me in combat when I'm still not sure what I'm supposed to be doing. That, and personally I don't actually enjoy the RP part of RPGs that much... I'm here for the gameplay. What I saw of the plot and the world is very impressive, and if I could handle the mechanics I think I'd enjoy it. If you're willing to figure it out, you'll be happy. Otherwise stop now because it really is a bear.

Flawed but Glorious

More 4.5 than 5 stars - it most certainly isn't perfect. Tl;dr: Still slightly buggy and with a few places with random difficulty spikes, it nevertheless is a /wonderous/ role-playing adventure with an engrossing story and party members with a lot of character. Technically, it seems mostly solid, at this point. Release had a lot of stumbles, but things are certainly getting better. The earlier stutter-slowdowns have been addressed (for me, at least) and I've not been noticing serious bugs, lately. Others have been complaining, still, so apparently there are still some glitches, but there have been regular bug fix patches, so that /is/ something still being addressed. From a story perspective, this /finally/ feels like a game that plays a worthy successor to the now ancient Baldur's Gate 2. Many quests, mostly the freedom to choose which one you're dealing with, now, and usually considerable freedom in how to deal with ending those quests. Multiple alignments you can aim for, multiple mythic powers to choose between and flavor the path, interesting party members... I've put over 150 hours into enjoying this world, and just kicked off another run through. Mechanically, it's /complex/. Depending on who you are and your play style, you might consider this either a strength or a weakness. On the one hand, you have the ability to work at chinks in your opponents' armor rather than needing to power through. On the other hand, you frequently /need/ to work at the chinks in your opponents' armor rather than being /able/ to power through. This both gives you an immense amount of freedom in character design and places a considerable burdn on learning enough of the rules and gotchas to use those capabilities correctly. As I've mentioned, I quite like most of the party members you can obtain. There are some that I don't want in my party, and want dead ASAP, but even those are interestingly written and interesting concepts. For those willing to be evil, YMMV.

Worth a try.

-Min-maxy, even on normal. -Will throw higher level enemies at you. -Not meant for turn-based combat. A lot of combatants, takes forever. -Good companions. -Good story.
