Description

The Imperial Edition includes:
  • A premium downloadable copy of the game which contains 2 in-game items to help an aspiring adventurer (a signet that allows you to bless your party several times a day, and a belt with bonus disease and fatigue resistance). Premium in-game items are not designed to break the game’s balance.
  • Two additional portraits. Images of a fearless warrior from Cheliax and a skilful elf wizard will be included in the gallery of portraits available upon creating a character.
  • A digital Art Book. 176 pages with sketches of characters, monsters, items and the game world, lovingly selected by our artists.
  • Official soundtrack. Contains a complete set of in-game music, created by Inon Zur and our Owlcat Games composer.
  • A digital module for board game adventures. This module has been created from scratch by game designer Chris Avellone assisted by Paizo experts to express gratitude to the entire pen'n'paper RPG community and the Pathfinder universe for providing support and being a source of inspiration for working on the game.
  • A digital high-resolution map of the Stolen Lands. This detailed map can be used as a desktop wallpaper. It can also help you navigate the dangerous and mysterious territories of the Stolen Lands.
  • A Red panda. This pet not only greets its owner, standing adorably on its hind legs, it will also increase your negative effect resistance.
  • A Season Pass. The Season Pass will automatically get you access to the first three packages of post-release downloadable content. These additions expand the world of the Stolen Lands and add new companions, locations, buildings, items, and most importantly - new adventures, memories and emotions for you to experience!

A premium downloadable copy differs from a regular downloadable copy by having the items mentioned in the description above.

Based on our players' feedback and suggestions, this version of the game improves and builds upon the original. This edition includes:
  • numerous gameplay-enriching content additions and dozens of quality-of-life features,
  • new abilities and ways to build your character, including a brand-new class,
  • new items and weaponry,
  • improved balance, especially in the beginning and last two chapters of the game,
  • enhanced kingdom management system, both in terms of balance as well as usability and player comfort,
  • increased variety of random encounters on the global map,
  • thousands of fixes and improvements made since the game's initial release.

With the help of over 18,000 Kickstarter backers, Narrative Designer Chris Avellone and composer Inon Zur, Owlcat Games is proud to bring you the first isometric computer RPG set in the beloved Pathfinder tabletop universe. Enjoy a classic RPG experience inspired by games like Baldur's Gate, Fallout 1 and 2 and Arcanum. Explore and conquer the Stolen Lands and make them your kingdom!

Explore the Stolen Lands, a region that has been contested territory for centuries. Hundreds of kingdoms have risen and fallen in these lands, and now it is time for you to make your mark—by building your own kingdom! To do so, you’ll need to survive the harsh wilderness and the threat of rival nations… as well as threats within your own court.

Customize your character with a wide range of classes and powers including specialized archetypes, powerful arcane and divine spells, choosing from a multitude of class abilities, skills, and feats. Pathfinder allows players to create heroes (or villains) that fit both their individual gameplay styles and their personalities.

Meet a diverse cast of companions and NPCs, including iconic characters from the Pathfinder setting itself. You’ll need to decide who to trust and who to watch carefully, as each companion has an agenda, alignment, and goals that may differ from yours. Your journey will become their journey, and you’ll help shape their lives both in the moment and well into the future.

Conquer new regions as claim them as your own, carving your kingdom from the wilderness. While classic dungeon crawling and exploration lie at the heart of this adventure, diplomacy, politics, and kingdom development are also part of the challenge. Choose your allies well, and keep them close while exploring ancient tombs and ruins — and while dealing with politics in your own court.

Your kingdom is a reflection of your character and your choices throughout the game. It is a living thing shaped by your alignment, your allies, and your ability to lead your people. Not only can your kingdom expand, opening up new territories and allowing you to build new towns and communities, but your capital city will physically change based on your decisions, your policies, and even whom you choose to ally with. As your kingdom grows, a number of factions and neighboring countries will come to you to seek favor—and to test your strength.

Explore - Conquer - Rule!

The Pathfinder Roleplaying Game is an evolution of the 3.5 rules set of the world's oldest fantasy roleplaying game, designed by Paizo, Inc using the feedback of tens of thousands of gamers just like you. recommend playing ONLY with mods!!!

So today I finished the game after a very long time. In itself this game is not a bad game, but unfortunately some things are not well thought out and not implemented correctly. Many ideas are nice but the implementation makes the game extremely unattractive. That's why this game is not so popular. Kingdom management with time pressure is an example of how a game is deliberately made unattractive. In addition, the game is extremely complicated but unfortunately it doesn't make sense, it's absolutely pointlessly complicated. There are hundreds of spells, but 80% of them are unworkable and many of them don't work at all. Many different spells have the same symbols, so you have to read carefully each time whether it is a specific spell you need or something else that has the same symbol. Many talents, skills and abilities are described so complicated that you need 2 semesters of studying the game to play the game optimally. This game is rarely fun but often frustrating. It's a shame actually, this game has a lot of potential but some people deliberately wanted the game not to be popular like BG2 or something like that. At least the game is no longer buggy and the graphics are ok. But if someone still wants to play the game, I recommend playing with some good mods (around 15). Without mods I would stay away from the game.

Epic RPG that overstays its welcome

First 50 hours or so are great, by the midgame it starts feeling like butter scraped over too much bread, in the last few chapters there's no butter left and it's just a rusty broken knife grinding against blackened rock-like piece of bread that your grandfather dropped in the cellar in 1964 and forgot about. Also, Owlcat needs to be forbidden by law from adding management minigames and timed quests to their RPGs.

The Ludomechanical Dissonance: the Game

Just look up the term. Most quests and events are timed and at the same time most content requires time consuming world exploration to experience it. It does not mix well together - you can't enjoy both things at the same moment so you will most likely never meet any expectations that game sets upon you. Most time while I was playing the game I felt slightly frustrated and at the same time it was enjoyable enough to go on. If you are a fan of Stockholm syndrome it's a game for you.

Wants to track my details?

Why has nobody mentioned this. It's in the game so should be part of any review. I'm one of those guys who checks the OPTIONS first. I immediately noticed a section that wants to track me. On checking it, it takes me to a site that explains it will track my game playing details, my IP, pc stats, etc, etc, but I can OPT out. So when I chose to opt out it says, "Please note that this will result in a non-personalized game experience." What? Am I being blackmailed for a game I PAID for? Now on a forum someone told me that I won't lose anything from opting out, but too late, this put a very bad taste in my mouth. I wanted to enjoy a game and instead I'm now worrying what this game is doing in the background? Unacceptable. Refunded. Not what I expect of a game on GOG and I support GOG a lot. But I will NOT support this.

One of the worst rpgs I've ever played.

And I've played Temple of elemental Doom. Keeping things short and succinct, nearly every aspect of this game is irrevocably broken, and whoever designed these quests either never played as the game master in a pen and paper rpg. Mechanically-Wise, the game was supposed to be a turn-based combat, 'upgraded' to real tactics, which is a serious problem when your foes can move out of order, your characters need to make the animation AFTER their turn started (wasting even more time), the rules aren't clear on what was changed from the pen-and-paper version (there is no disarm for example) and god help your soul if you aren't familiar with Pathfinder. This is even made worse and more jarring when the enemies are insanely over-leveled (even on normal) with wild rules spawning random encounters ten levels above your party. If you and your party aren't min-maxed optimized, game over man, game over. And to make things even more interesting, the recruitable npcs have some of the worst point distribution I've ever seen. Which is made worse by how this game was made, story-wise. As an example, the first quest out of the tutorial is to find some berries. Your party will at most be at level 2. You are expected to kill giant spiders and spider-mobs, who are immune to anything except splash damage. Originally there was literally no indication on how to kill those mobs or any help to do it, it had to be patched after complaints. Said mobs have a touch AC of 17. AC 17 against a level 2 group. Let it sink. And now extend this thought through the entire game. I couldn't resolve a tribal conflict peacefully without bloodshed because my character WASN'T NEUTRAL. To call the companions one-dimensional is overdoing it, they are parodies of their classes, with the 'for the evilz' rogue, the barely-understandable rage barbarian, the young and pure and naive cleric, the asshole knight. There is no charm, there is no lure, there is no epic struggle or mystery.
