Description

Also available:
- Pathfinder: Kingmaker - Royal Ascension DLC
Pathfinder: Kingmaker - Season Pass Bundle

The Enhanced Plus Edition includes:
  • A downloadable copy of the game.

Based on our players' feedback and suggestions, this version of the game improves and builds upon the original. This edition includes:
  • numerous gameplay-enriching content additions and dozens of quality-of-life features,
  • new abilities and ways to build your character, including a brand-new class,
  • new items and weaponry,
  • improved balance, especially in the beginning and last two chapters of the game,
  • enhanced kingdom management system, both in terms of balance as well as usability and player comfort,
  • increased variety of random encounters on the global map,
  • thousands of fixes and improvements made since the game's initial release.

With the help of over 18,000 Kickstarter backers, Narrative Designer Chris Avellone and composer Inon Zur, Owlcat Games is proud to bring you the first isometric computer RPG set in the beloved Pathfinder tabletop universe. Enjoy a classic RPG experience inspired by games like Baldur's Gate, Fallout 1 and 2 and Arcanum. Explore and conquer the Stolen Lands and make them your kingdom!

Explore the Stolen Lands, a region that has been contested territory for centuries. Hundreds of kingdoms have risen and fallen in these lands, and now it is time for you to make your mark—by building your own kingdom! To do so, you’ll need to survive the harsh wilderness and the threat of rival nations… as well as threats within your own court.

Customize your character with a wide range of classes and powers including specialized archetypes, powerful arcane and divine spells, choosing from a multitude of class abilities, skills, and feats. Pathfinder allows players to create heroes (or villains) that fit both their individual gameplay styles and their personalities.

Meet a diverse cast of companions and NPCs, including iconic characters from the Pathfinder setting itself. You’ll need to decide who to trust and who to watch carefully, as each companion has an agenda, alignment, and goals that may differ from yours. Your journey will become their journey, and you’ll help shape their lives both in the moment and well into the future.

Conquer new regions as claim them as your own, carving your kingdom from the wilderness. While classic dungeon crawling and exploration lie at the heart of this adventure, diplomacy, politics, and kingdom development are also part of the challenge. Choose your allies well, and keep them close while exploring ancient tombs and ruins — and while dealing with politics in your own court.

Your kingdom is a reflection of your character and your choices throughout the game. It is a living thing shaped by your alignment, your allies, and your ability to lead your people. Not only can your kingdom expand, opening up new territories and allowing you to build new towns and communities, but your capital city will physically change based on your decisions, your policies, and even whom you choose to ally with. As your kingdom grows, a number of factions and neighboring countries will come to you to seek favor—and to test your strength.

Explore - Conquer - Rule!

I want more games like this!

I liked: - Realtime (with pause) combat --- like in Baldurs Gate. If it wasn't there and instead fx turn based it would take an eternity (like real tabletop). - The Scope. Starting from the bottom where everything is deadly to higher levels where the encounter levels swing from walk-in-park to how-do-I-beat-this?? - The Lore. The first world and gnome bleaching in particular. I already knew bits and pieces about Golarion lore but this helped me get more invested in the world. Will definetly GM my next campaign in Golarion. - The Length. It could always have been longer (maybe an even longer time before I get my baronny?) But the episodic feel it gets because of the chapters does give it a feeling of a grand campaign. I understand: - Why they had to make things harder than in tabletop. In this game you can load and prebuff. - Why they didn't have spells like Fly, Teleport and Suggestion. In particular Fly would change the complexity (and confusion) of the combat - Why didn't have grapple etc.. I grapple and tie up the enemy... now that enemy needs a dialogue tree too. Now for their next game I have some (big) wishes: - Simple AI designer for Companions (like BG-series had) - Stronger AI for enemies. I'd like to see more tactics from even a barbarian than from an owlbear - Destructable environment - Toolset. Like Neverwinter Nights make a toolset so players can make their own adventure... - ... then make it multiplayer like Neverwinter Nights

Very good (after v2.05)

Very rich, very long or maybe even too long. Very good main story Companions characters are okay, but not really brillant thought, a bit too classical (Nok-Nok is quite fun). But main story is really good. Kingdom management is sometimes a bit too much heavy. I overall had a very good time. Note: I began to play with Enhanced Edition v2.05 (when I finished, it was 2.07), and I did not encounter any bugs. I say this because initial release was apparently full of bugs.

Great game with a lot of micromanagement

Very immersive, well written, very detailed mechanics, and practically unlimited character build options. Difficulty seems fine to play on normal settings. Most, if not all situations that are out of balance can be avoided and postponed or overcome with specific tactics, at least for the first quarter of the game (that's all I've played). The kingdom aspect of it is interesting so far. I'm in constant need of B(uilding) P(oints) to improve my towns, expand territory, claim "resources", and many other minor actions. Meanwhile my kingdom is ever beset by problems which require BP to remediate, and the ability to increase BP generation requires of course, tons of BP...so hopefully it's supposed to be a slow build or I'm just very bad at the game or both. I was a big fan of Birthright: Gorgon's Alliance and so far this is much more of an isometric TB/RTS/RPG - which is impressive and well done, but it isn't a map style, RISK-like, experience. My biggest gripe is navigating certain maps repeatedly is tiresome, there's no mini map or warp zone or trade route and scrolling is slow. No quick-leave option on maps, you have to manually set your character to go to the exit and then hit the exit button once they get there. And then a loading screen. A relatively trivial complaint, but it does get tedious, especially since all the things you should be doing require close management as well. Runs well enough on my rather old and weak PC. Often crashes after I quit, but has no impact on the save.

Interesting but flawed

The story and character creation are fun and the presets are great for those wanting to just dive in real quick and see what's going on. The game is tough for someone just diving into it and the does a terrible job explaining how many mechanics work and how it translates skill checks as well as combat effects at all. The game would be forgivable for that considering that it can lower the difficulty and make things easier to deal with, but the added advent of fatigue while traveling and carry weight makes it far too much like a simulator than a tactical rpg. While this feels more like a game i'd like to try out more, the line i couldn't cross was the game freezing my computer after i tried to exit it after playing for about 2 hours. that will keep me from playing this again until i hear its been patched to keep things like that from happening.
