The Enhanced Plus Edition includes:

Based on our players' feedback and suggestions, this version of the game improves and builds upon the original. This edition includes:

  • new abilities and ways to build your character, including a brand-new class,

  • improved balance, especially in the beginning and last two chapters of the game,
  • enhanced kingdom management system, both in terms of balance as well as usability and player comfort,
  • increased variety of random encounters on the global map,
  • thousands of fixes and improvements made since the game's initial release.

With the help of over 18,000 Kickstarter backers, Narrative Designer Chris Avellone and composer Inon Zur, Owlcat Games is proud to bring you the first isometric computer RPG set in the beloved Pathfinder tabletop universe. Enjoy a classic RPG experience inspired by games like Baldur's Gate, Fallout 1 and 2 and Arcanum. Explore and conquer the Stolen Lands and make them your kingdom!

Explore the Stolen Lands, a region that has been contested territory for centuries. Hundreds of kingdoms have risen and fallen in these lands, and now it is time for you to make your mark—by building your own kingdom! To do so, you’ll need to survive the harsh wilderness and the threat of rival nations… as well as threats within your own court.

Customize your character with a wide range of classes and powers including specialized archetypes, powerful arcane and divine spells, choosing from a multitude of class abilities, skills, and feats. Pathfinder allows players to create heroes (or villains) that fit both their individual gameplay styles and their personalities.

Meet a diverse cast of companions and NPCs, including iconic characters from the Pathfinder setting itself. You’ll need to decide who to trust and who to watch carefully, as each companion has an agenda, alignment, and goals that may differ from yours. Your journey will become their journey, and you’ll help shape their lives both in the moment and well into the future.

Conquer new regions as claim them as your own, carving your kingdom from the wilderness. While classic dungeon crawling and exploration lie at the heart of this adventure, diplomacy, politics, and kingdom development are also part of the challenge. Choose your allies well, and keep them close while exploring ancient tombs and ruins — and while dealing with politics in your own court.

Your kingdom is a reflection of your character and your choices throughout the game. It is a living thing shaped by your alignment, your allies, and your ability to lead your people. Not only can your kingdom expand, opening up new territories and allowing you to build new towns and communities, but your capital city will physically change based on your decisions, your policies, and even whom you choose to ally with. As your kingdom grows, a number of factions and neighboring countries will come to you to seek favor—and to test your strength.

Explore - Conquer - Rule!

Fantastic, Immersive CRPG

This game is absolutely my game of the year. There are quite a few bugs from what I've read, but they are being fixed quickly. I'm just getting to act 4 and haven't actually experienced anything except minor display bugs myself, so I can't really comment on their severity. Outside of the bugs, the game itself is incredibly deep. The class options alone had me sitting around reading up and deciding what to play for a couple of days before I actually dug into the game. The story is well written, compelling, and presented in a way that's quite refreshing compared to other CRPGs I've played this year. Our companions are all lovable in their own way and have excellent dialogue and their own interesting side stories. Pathfinder: Kingmaker has an absurd amount of content as well. I'm almost 100 hours in and approximately half way through the game. And that's not even counting replayability, which I'm already preparing for a next playthrough. Overall I'd say that if you enjoy story driven games you absolutely cannot miss out on this one. Don't let the potential bugs keep you away, it's too good to be overly concerned with some glitches here and there.

Good story with game breaking bugs

Game has a good story but it has a lot of issues that are immersion breaking. I lost several hours of gameplay after the party became bugged - fatigue wouldn't get removed after resting. I think this was after the Debates quest with Jubilost. Other issues I encountered before: 1. Duplicated Amiri - had to reload to an earlier save because she was no longer interactable in the Tuskgutter area 2. The elf artisan quest. One of the key characters isn't interactable too.

Brilliant, classic!

At first, I am not new to D&D 3.5. Maybe that's why I did not experience any problems with the game being too difficult. So I kinda understand people that give low rating to this game. Especially, considering that the class descriptions are not full, some game mechanics are not clear etc. But is the game balance or difficulty level is broken? Absolutely not. This is the best balanced D&D cRPG I've ever played, and I played them all (unfortunately, I can't go into details, since I am limited on review size). When I see people complain on some bosses, I realize that they would have the same problems with Baldur's Gates 2, for example. It's not their fault, they are not used to the games like this one, but it's so sad that this brilliant game fails to gain acceptance it deserves because of that. The graphics is the best I've ever seen in isometric RPG (better than PoE2 for example, which still looks nice). I do not mean only the technical part, it's just beautiful. Level design, portraits, items in your inventory, everything. They really tried their best to make a great game. The soundtracks are amazing. They are beautiful, various and they don't last too long, replacing each other, so you never get tired of them. The writing is good. It's not Planescape: Torment, but at least the game don't feed you tons of senseless texts, like PoE (I still like PoE though). I can't rate storyline or companions, since I haven't completed half a game yet. All I can say, the companions got their big quests, so it looks promising. I also want to praise the strategic part. In this game you rule a barony, and I think it complements the game really well. Yep, there are some flaws. I ran into few bugs (they are fixed now), loading screens are a bit annoying... That's all. It's a brilliant game, guys. I really think this is one of the best D&D

I should have just ran this on table top

The first act wasn't too bad and I haven't ran into any show stopping bugs. As in no ctd, save corruption, nor have I run into any quests I couldn't complete... so long as I made sure I hard saved and save scummed from time to time. But once I got to the second act where the kingdom management comes into play I just stop having fun. The game just does a bad job at communicating things with the UI. However they want to control the flow of quests and kingdom management, I wish they would at least make things more intuitive. Honestly I'd prefer if they just gate the quests with events and take the time factor out altogether. If they want to prevent people from advancing their kingdoms too fast they could have just gated that side with resources or human resources you had to gather in which to be able to start projects. Then everything would flow well with the quest progression and narrative. No more weird timings. No more having to juggle things like I'm at the office working rather than playing a game to relax. I had a quest that claimed I had 13 days left to get to the location suddenly popup saying I'm late and my kingdom was going to get cursed if I didn't get there in 2 days. Why have the timer if you're not going to follow it? I feel like they followed the source material a little too closely and didn't spend enough time thinking how best to implement this game as a CRPG. Quite tired of losing hours of progress due to trial and error.

Huge disappointement

At the very beginning of the game its strengths are displayed: a faithful adaptation of the pen and paper system and great artwork. But as you delve into the game its crippling weaknesses become apparent: an extremely limited amount of enemies reused for ad nauseam repeated encounters under the same tactical circumstances (seriously, what's the fun in dealing with the 17th wolf pack in your way, just exploring the map?), the dumb AI, a large, explorable map with most locations being mostly empty save for a filler combat encounter and some basic loot, a lack of sidequests and guidance for the player to important events, mediocre writing/storytelling, etc... And the kingdom building feature... I was so excited about this when I first started playing. I was looking forward to making all sorts of important moral, diplomatic, economic and military decisions and see what kind of a baron I would turn out to be, how all that would influence the outcome. Instead it's a weak little resource management game about increasing stats and managing die rolls where even the occasional RPG style decision making only results in stats moving one way or the other. I would recommend avoiding this title. The overall experience is tedious and frustrating.
