Papetura

It is game created by one man - Tomasz Ostafin from Poland, with a little help from Tomas Dvorak from Czech Republic (music). Papetura is similar in style to Amanita Design games. If you like Samorost series or Machinarium you will also enjoy Papetura. Yes, Papetura is quite simple point and click, simplier than Samorost or Machinarium (and more logic in that way), but this is Art by big A. The whole world is hand made from paper and it took Ostafin many years. The atmosphere is great. Just relax, slowly click, watch and enjoy.

The visuals are phenomenal. I'm a sucker for Amanita Design-ish point n click games but I think this one stands out with its unique art direction which exclusively makes use of paper. Every scene is meticulously crafted, and with clean lighting effects they really took my breath away. The simplicity of the story wasn't an issue for me because the world and its inhabitants feeling alive and full of wonder mattered to me more. In short, loved it. I hope this sells well so that the people behind this won't stop making games.

Paper rocks! Beautiful game, short but sweet, everything has such a gorgeous style and it feels so gentle. Really makes you appreciate paper. 10/10

This was short (beaten in about 2 hours and that was probably a bit slow) but sweet. I can imagine how time consuming creating every piece of this game must have been so I won't complain about the length. Instead, I have to applaud the attention to detail, quite clever puzzles, deeply atmospheric music and unique charming little world to explore (with few slightly scary moments - kids 8+ should be fine). Beautiful experience overall.

Papetura is a true masterpiece! It lets us explore and experience a wonderful sweet little story inside the piece of art that is the handmade world of this game. The beautiful music really adds to the atmosphere, and the puzzles are not too difficult, and there's a hint system in game if you get stuck :) It's a short game but that to me is a good thing. Sometimes it's nice to be able to complete a story in an evening, all games don't have to last forever :) That said, I do hope we get another one of these in the future!
