Linux review.
Game works perfectly on Linux using Wine (winetricks dxvk corefonts). Buttery smooth at 1080p 60fps with zero issues -- it's just too bad it's a terrible game. I just know it's a bad sign when a "made in Unity" splash screen appears. While there are a handful of good Unity engine games out there, the majority have a reputation for being complete dog shit due to inexperienced/amateur developers who think they know how to make games but actually don't, or asset-flip scam artists trying to make a quick buck. This game seems to have a bit of column A and column B (ripping of the Girls und Panzer anime series). I wasn't expecting a hyper-realistic sim like an anime version of Steel Beasts Pro. Despite my rock-bottom expectations, what you get for $24.99 (!) is a game with foggy draw-distance and constant object pop-in. The pop-in ranges from distracting to downright bullshit when hostile tanks magically teleport into existence right in front of you, then start taking pot shots at you before you even get a chance to react. The AI of the tanks also seems to vary wildly. Sometimes you can hit enemies several times from afar and they won't react, other times they will immediately lock-on to your tank and never miss a single shot. The same goes for your squadmates who frequently get stuck due to terrible pathfinding, leaving you to charge the enemy lines by yourself. Another annoyance was how armor penetration seems to be a dice roll, but only for your shots. But don't worry, the enemy shots will always deal damage when they hit you. I got to about mission 3 or 4 then decided I'd had enough. I wouldn't even recommend pirating this game for free. Go buy the Girls und Panzer anime instead, it's way more fun.
