The missing Quickload
The game does not even try to be fair. Okay, I do not necessarily have a problem with that itself. I like a challenge. But if you die as many times as in Painkiller, at least a quicksave / quickload option should have been integrated. Alas, the so-called "quickload" is not quick at all. Expect to wait more than a minute for the "quickload", probably even much longer. The Windows Experience Index (WEI)) of my PC (win8-64) is 7,9 for all components except the HD (7,9). The game is installed on an SSD, complete RAM is 16 GB, with a RamDisk of 4 GB. At some points in the game, be prepared to fill one hour of "gaming" with 55 minutes of waiting. But is it worth waiting (or gaming)? Honestly: No. The whole thing gets repetitive very fast. Levels are boring, enemies are boring, weapons are boring, "story" is - well, you get the picture. With a quicload option, you might get some mindless fun nevertheless for a few minutes during a coffee break. I cannot recommend Painkiller.
