Description
Victory or Death - what shall it be?

The final chapter of the "krieg" trilogy is here: after four years of campaigning the battle-tested Wehrmacht will have to face its hardest challenges in Order of Battle: Endsieg.

The Endsieg campaign, the biggest and longest yet, includes 16 unique scenarios. The story begins right after the Battle of Kursk, where the game provides the option to import a core force from either the Panzerkrieg or Sandstorm campaign.

The first five scenarios are based on the historical 1st Soviet offensive in the Donbass in summer 1943, up to the Leningrad–Novgorod strategic offensive in early 1944. A decisive defeat of the Red Army will eventually allow total victory over the Soviet Union, while failure to do so will turn the campaign away from the Eastern Front and into the Battle of Anzio in Italy.

In the second part of the campaign the player's forces are transferred to the west, where the Allied invasion of Normandy has opened a new front. Initially you'll be forced on the defensive, and you'll be tasked to extract other German forces from the Falaise trap, defeat Allied airborne units in Market-Garden, and defend the city of Aachen and the Huertgenwald against heavy attacks. By reaching a decisive victory in the German Ardennes Offensive in December 1944 the tide of the war can finally be turned again, leading to a set of ultimate battles to destroy the Allied armies once and for all.

Covering the final years of the war, Endsieg offers powerful weapons such as Tiger II heavy tanks, Jagdpanther tank destroyers and Me-262 jetfighters as well as several new specializations. But beware, the enemy has brought many deadly new weapons of their own!

Are you ready to change history?

Features

• 16 scenarios - one of the biggest DLC campaigns yet - covering the aftermath of the battle of Kursk in 1943 until German counter-offensive in the Ardennes in 1944, allowing the player to defeat the Western Allies in battles around Antwerp and Calais.

• Over 60 unit types reinforce the ground and air forces of Germany, Great Britain and the Soviet Union. Players now have access to late war equipment such as the Tiger II heavy tank, the Sturmtiger with its bunker-busting 380mm rocket launcher, Me 262 jet fighters and the heaviest tank ever built: the PzKw VIII Maus.

• 6 specializations for Germany, including the Panzerlehr - providing an elite Panzer unit, the Entwicklung Series for production of the E-100 super heavy tank, Vampir Nachtjeager for increased tank combat efficiency and the Uranproject: Germany's endeavour to create the atomic bomb.

But at what cost.

I am a long time Order Of Battle fan of average experience/ skill in strategy games. I hope that I can provide valuable feedback to the company as to their latest DLC which I was looking forward to and found it disappointing. As per the information Endseig or end-victory is the latest DLC for Order Of Battle. It adds a new campaign, new units and finishes off the seig series. I was a very big fan of Blitzkreig but certainly not of Panzerkreig and certainly not Endseig, So what did I not like about it? Like Panzerkreig you are 'winning' battles only to have the plot armor of the story throw you back into a historical position such as winning in Paris sees you retreat ect. in the later scenarios. Lots of defense only missions without much customization or tactics to use other then 'stop the large horde. (Yes I understand you are fighting the Soviet Union and fighting off an invasion but the Winter War DLC did this without feeling like such a chore.' Not really anything unique why there are new units its, the same sort of plot line story you have seen played out in so many ww2 games. and we don't see any real new terrain or unique innovations from the authors. Specializations are rather limited and boring and lack much of a strategic element There are quite a few bugs and spelling mistakes that should of easily been stamped out in a 'professional product.' Missions are drab and boring. The option to capture Moscow through a series of major victories is ridiculously hard and poorly done. So there you have it, loved a few of the little things but ultimately it's boring and feels like a mission pack from the internet rather then a paid expansion. I expected big things after Sandstorm but instead I just got bland stuff that is see it done it played it a million times, boring defense missions with little real variation. I hope the makers of this game can take this feedback into account and keep making great DLC like Sandstorm.

Limited by the game engine

I would say that Endsieg shows well some of the main weak points of this game. Especially tragic inability of AI to attack, which has to be compensated by large numbers and other measures. Player gets too few units (Command Points) and choices restricted by other conditions, like objectives to hold not too favorable starting positions (AI can't handle pursuits). That makes player a tool which tries to keep units able to fight, which isn't too entertaining. Defensive missions with more freedom, mostly later, are usually pretty simple. All you have to do is to get out of the touch. Add a few well placed minefields and AI is lost. Offensive missions are better, but there are just a few of them as a reward. Even if you are still crushing attacking enemy, you have to follow historical line. Fine for a history fan, but I can see the problem here. And some other issues I can fit in: Specializations are mostly useless. SS3 units are good to increase your CP, but it also diverts lots of income from main army, making resource management even more complicated. Perhaps intended, but I avoided it. Unit types and upgrades are another wasted opportunity. History offers the best and most iconic weapons of the war here, but using them in the game usually doesn't make sense. And almost no upgrades do. You are stuck with fw190 fighters for the first half and me262 (upgrade exception) for the second. Air CP are heavily limited (especially in the west), so you need a few elite planes. There are some other fighters later, but none is better and because all planes cost same 3CP (WHY?), useless. Sometimes you can afford fighter bombers, which are better than outdated tac bombers. No room for strategic bombers. Tigers were too expensive even in reality, but much cheaper panthers are almost as expensive here. Assault tanks can do similar job for half price. Other units have similar problems, just infantry gets boring upgrades each year and recon never, as expected in this game.
