Oniken: Unstoppable Edition

This game is hard. This game is borderline unfair. If you are of a certain age and remember what NES hard is (or really like classic games) then you will feel at home. I highly recommend to read the manual because its so full of 90's attitude that it makes the experiance that much better. Get this game if you are looking for a throw back to the old days were games were hard to extend the play time. Avoid it if you don't like a challenge. I rate it four stars simply because certain parts of the game, if you make one mistake you might as well restart the level. The levels are very short, taking just a few minuts to complete, but after playing other new retro games like Blaster Master on the switch I didn't have the patience for it.

Authentic retro platforming game in the vein of Ninja Gaiden or Strider. Very challenging, but very fair (not many cheap deaths). Possible Improvements: * Add a checkpoint closer to the Ice Level Boss (died a lot in the short area of collapsing floors). * Turn off player death the moment a Boss is killed (I killed a boss and while it was playing a death animation, fell into a pit). * Add a "tell" to falling platforms (give the player a clue that the platforms they are standing on will break). * Show path of moving platforms (so that player can tell where they are going to change direction).

Very cool game 8/10 I wish to have sequel in future

Oniken is a NES game, but done right. The difficulty is not to hard (while it is hard) and not to easy. It is short, but it really is an awesome game. It get's not a 5 star raiting because of the length. Its a buy.
