Omensight is an Action Murder-Mystery game and a spiritual successor to the award-winning Stories: The Path of Destinies.

You are the Harbinger, a mythical warrior who only appears in times of crisis. The land of Urralia is torn by war. But there is worse: as night falls, you witness the destruction of the world at the hands of a dark God.

As the eyes and the sword of Urralia, it is up to you to reverse this fate. All you know is that it started with a mysterious murder.

You are granted the power to relive the final day of Urralia. Lead the investigation as you decide how you spend each day.

Appear alongside characters who played a part in the apocalypse, fight with them or against them, and use your Omensight power to weave a new narrative. Through your decisions, your skills and your wits, change the course of the day and, perhaps, pave the way to a brighter future.

Featuring the top voice acting talents of Patricia Summersett (Zelda: Breath of the Wild) and Julian Casey (We Happy Few, Stories), and a stellar writing team including Nadim Boukhira (Stories), Genese Davis (The Holder’s Dominion), and Chris Avellone (Planescape: Torment, Pillars of Eternity).

    MANIPULATE TIME
An innovative narrative experience, seamlessly blending interactive story with action gameplay. Witness the outcome of events from different perspectives, and affect the outcomes through your actions.

    INVESTIGATE A MYSTERY
Join a diverse cast of characters with mysterious roles to play in Urralia's story - and each other's.

    CHANGE FATE

    An improved spiritual successor

If you have played "Stories: the path of destinies", this game is an improved "spiritual successor" of it. Like Stories, Omensight is a heavily narrative driven game with hack n'slash/RPG style combat and elements of dialogue, with choices aimed to unfold the course of the events that brought the world around you to the current situation and will bring you to the final battle later on. However, while being very similar there are still some differences between Stories and Omensight: On a gameplay level Omensight is an improved game as the combat is more polished and has more variety, with also the addition of allied characters. On a narrative level, Omensight has a more complex writing, as every character has their own course of events to unfold that will always ends up crossing another ones path creating a "big picture" for you to find out piece by piece. The only true flaw of this game is that it has no replayability: once you finish the game, it just ends, you can't go back and there is no "New game +" or anything like that. So should you get this game ? if you like narrative driven games - yes, go for it, especially if you liked Stories. Otherwise you would be better off playing an actual hack and slash button masher. Personally, the moment i installed it i couldn't stop playing it as it kept me hooked wanting to know and see more of the story everytime @.@ Also, despite the effort and work the developers have put into this game, the lack of replaiability make me say that you would be better getting this game on discount, the base price is a bit too much for a game that just ends the moment you beat it.

    Unbalanced gameplay

Unfortunately this spiritual successor broke the already fragile combat balance of the original title in a result that is simply not fun and that quickly leads to frustration. Story progression also suffers from a lack of clear narrative path and heavily relies on discovering hidden info on characters to attempt a bond with what feels like shallow figures. As a huge fan of the previous title this was hard to write but in the end not having fun is a death sentence for any game.

Time travel, not just some gimmick!

Omensight is a "Hack and Slash Time-Travel-Murder-Mystery", in which the players goal is to find out who killed the "Godless Priestess" and how her murder is linked to the forthcoming end of the world. You play as the "Harbinger", a creature with mystical powers, the most important one beeing the ability to travel back through time, or more precisely, the day before the apocalypse. All this is happening in a dark fantasy setting with beautiful environments and a likewise beautiful soundtrack, if you are into sightseeing you will get plenty of opportunities to visit places such as the imperial prison or the emperors temple, or take your favorite character with you and go for a walk through the battle scarred forests and cities. Yes you are not alone on this quest, each time you travel through time you are able to start the day with one of four vastly different characters, gameplay and story wise, which are essential to the mystery, these can not only take you through their day, but your presence can have various influences on them, perhaps multiple characters will cross each others path and its up to you on how to solve such situations, especially when the characters are fighting on opposite sides. Even if you arent into the Hack and Slash combat of Omensight, the story, likeable characters and decision impact that the game offers makes Omensight deliver beyond its asking price.

    Enjoyable Game

An enjoyable game and a good story, however, the keyboard/mouse controls are abysmal so I highly recommend using a gamepad. Even with that, the camera does some *really* annoying things, especially when you're trying to avoid obstacles or hazards.

    Fun storytelling

Another great one from the creators of "Stories". Gameplay is fun, gets a bit repetitive in the end though. Nonetheless, a great way to tell their story. I had a great time!
