Impulse Buy - WORTH IT!!!

Saw it. Bought it. Loved it. If you are at all a fan of physics games (ala Katamari) or maybe even the Thief series, I recommend this. Nearly every object in this game is interactive. You can cook food, mow the lawn, pour out drinks. The movement, which could have easily been clunky and annoying, is handled perfectly. Any frustration is simply from learning the technique. It's really quite precise. The story keeps you slogging from level to level. Sneaking around the guards reminded me of the Thief series, albeit much simpler. My only complaint is the length. This takes a couple hours to finish on easy. Most of the challenge comes from handling the physics and avoiding being discovered. Naturally as the difficulty is increased, the time spent fine-tuning your Octopus reflexes increases with it. At first glance the game seems VERY replayable.

Frustrating and endearing. I love it!

I think this is a great game. The mechanics are interesting and can, at certain points, be really frustrating, but it feels like the game rewards your efforts. The game is a bit short and some people will hold that against the game, but I don't think it detracts from it at all. The humour is good and there are some really funny jokes and some fairly funny references here and there. I feel the story is pretty well written in all it's glorious absurdity. I really like the family, especially the little girl which I think is just hilarious and adorable. Overall I found it a great experience. There are some bits that will tug on your heartstrings and some bits will make you laugh. I would warmly recommend it if you are looking for an adventure game with humour and heart(and a bit of frustration that is totally worth it).

Cute concept, frustrating executiom

The premise is amusing enough (Anyone else reminded of Chicken Boo from the Animaniacs?), and the first couple of puzzles are pretty sharp. Unfortunately, the clever physics turned annoying when I spent 20 minutes trying to get an aquarium ticket into a little slot. That's apparently the limit of my sense of humor.

Casual fun, give it a try

I've play this game the day it came out, and i can still remember the experience. Octodad is about a Octopus dad that tries to blend with society and his family, trying to be as normal as possible but of course he's a octopus, that's most of the premise. The intresting part of the game comes when you have to play it, you have to move with your mouse in a 3D enviroment, how? Think like WASD, the flash game but with a mouse and a sticky mechanic were you can stick your limbs through the celling or phisics base objects and yes this game is very frustating because of that, you have to be patient with every move you do and try to not mess it up. It's a short game, like 2 or 3 hours long the main story. no major complains. This is a very good game, you should give it a try if you like quirky, experimental little experiences

Goofy fun time for a few hours

The game is short, hard and fun. The fun factor wears off very quicky after you complete the game in 2-3 hours. Thus, it is highly recommended to buy this on sale. I enjoyed the upbeat music very much. The voice acting is nice (I really felt like my child is crying for me during the dark level in the aquarium). The story and the general feeling is quirky and I appreciate that.
