Very good game, but with a caveat

I've got this game on Epic, and enjoyed the puzzles, and exploration of a space station. The visuals are beautiful, and too be fair, I'm a sucker for the NASA-style realistic visuals of the equipment, and everything. This is mostly a linear story (from what I played), where you progress by solving puzzles, and moving through the space station. You play as SAM, and artificial intelligence only able to see through onboard cameras, and software 3D maps, and you're tasked help the Dr. Fisher investigate what happened to the space station and its crew. If my memory serves, I had reached a point between different countries parts of the station. Still... All in all, Epic Games says I played 4 hours. And I stopped playing the game because of a bug (which happens, so no big deal), and a design problem (single auto save) that made the aforementioned bug a critical issue: In got stuck in a puzzle because I activated it, moved away from the room, and when I came back, I was unable to solve it properly, nor reset it to its initial state. If I had had access to save games, I would have reloaded the save a few rooms before, and continued (and probably finished) the game, avoiding triggering the bug. But you have only ONE save, and you have NO CONTROL over it. So, my only way out of it was to restart from start. And, frustrated, I never went back. Perhaps I will enjoy it through a walkthrough video on Youtube, or something... Needless to say, this "one autosave only" design choice ruined my experience, and I'd wish the developers would consider dropping this forever. But if you avoid that bug (and I assume most will never encounter it), then it's an awesome space thriller, story-driven game, 4 stars. Of course, I removed one star because of that bug.

An extremely good game, but buggy

So this is a narrative centric game somewhere between a puzzle game and actually a walking sim or something. You play as an AI assisting a survivor of an accident aboard a space station. Everything is done in painstaking detail, from the extremely realistic space station over the slightly old-tech Alien inspired computer UI to the pedestrian part of the puzzles that come down to repetitive tasks evoking how boring this part of the work would actually be. Really really well done. It's also *insanely* buggy. Puzzles bug out, savegames get bugged, the controls bug out, the graphics bug, everything is buggy. If you can stomach that, this is one of the best games of 2020, IMO. But be warned ,you can't manually save/load, so maybe do manual backups of the autosave.

Good game with a good story

Well so far I finished the game in roughly 8 hours and if you like games with good stories, this one is for you. This is not a game that give you much of hand holding and I am (very) fine with that (I ususally deactivate palyer help on navigation, clues, etc, on games and rack my brain!). On the technical side, the graphics are ok (somes glitches but I put up with them because of the story is good!), the voice acting is good, the story is interesting as said before and the ovewhole experience is pleasant. Navigation on 6 axis can be confusing (or frustrating) while exploring but nothing major. I liked the atmospshere There are story arcs that could have been added (Jim, I think of you) but so far the story is compelling to keep on exploring and discovering. I have appreciated the lore mechanics with the SAMOS Links, nice touch. The fact there is only autosave is a problem for somes people but not for me (except when it gets corrupted but there are walkaround, like with any other games). The replay value is limited honestly when you are done but after figuring out the game mechanics, I think I will go back again to the station and try to find more lore as I have missed some during my first playthrough. I didn't regret buying it, this I am sure.

5/5 For me

So great to randomly see this on GOG. There are plenty of "you're an AI moving around cameras" games but this one is the best. If we had Observation + Tacoma we'd have the best space walking simulator. PROs: - Insane graphics (and made with Unity!) most of this game looks like a life action movie. Whenever you see people you get uncanny valley, but otherwise it has this great CCTV effect - Voice acting and music set the atmosphere - Game doesn't help you navigate. You need to learn the station a little bit - Short enough to do fast but not short enough to be short - You need to navigate in 360 degrees and its mostly fine - I love puzzles where you need to find codes or write stuff down CONs: - Same puzzles over and over - Unoriginal story - The notes left around the station don't have any cool revelations - It's linear but it's telling a story

Very atmospheric, pun somewhat intended

This was such a unique and immersive way to play a game. I got it through the initial release on another store, but would definitely have bought it through GOG if it was available at the time. The game is tense, creepy, and intriguing. A spacewalk section actually had me holding my breath and not wanting to do it for fear of floating off. As some have mentioned, it isn't the longest game I've played, but definitely worth what I paid for it. I would like to do it again sometime and am curious about other titles this developer has made. All in all, a great spooky game with excellent visuals and sound design, and even ran well on my less than brand new computer.
