An excellent action/RPG hybrid with very unique gameplay. Your name is Jack Mower, a 20th century dude who just happened to be sucked into the world of Nox via his TV set. The world is in danger and you have to save it! But before you embark on your epic journey you must choose your path: warrior, wizard, or conjurer.
Choose the path of a warrior, and you will be able to equip and use all manner of swords, battle-axes, war hammers, and chakrams - though you’ll leave the magical mumbo-jumbo up to the Conjurer and Wizard classes. An enchanted weapon is the closest a Warrior gets to magic but that’s OK, because magic is for sissies.
As a Wizard you will explore the mystical art of spell casting, ranging from enemy-confounding illusions to devastating displays of metaphysical force. You’ll also learn to set magical traps containing deadly spell combinations to thwart the unsuspecting foe. Although you’ll have to renounce the use of ungainly swords and armor in the name of your art, you will still be able to wield a staff as a last-ditch physical defense.
If you choose a Conjurer you will be able to magically charm and summon creatures to do your bidding. You can even create a magical creature called a bomber which can wreak sorcerous havoc on your enemies. You’ll also get plenty of experience wielding staves and bows to fend off the few enemies who manage to slip past your minions.

You play Jack, a young man who (along with his TV) is accidentally teleported to Nox by the evil Hecubah, and it is your job to right things in Nox and eventually defeat her. The story and gameplay adapts to accommodate one of three different character classes you have to choose from, the Warrior, who can't use magic, but has access to all armor and weapon types (except bows and staves), the Conjurer, who can use bows and crossbows, can use some spells, but specialize in summoning monsters that can fight alongside them, and the Wizard class, who specialize in the vast majority of spells in the game, and can even teleport and become invisible. This adds tremendous replayability as playing the game with each character makes for a completely different experience, basically giving you three games in one. Easy to get into, Nox is highly recommended for fans of the genre."

Nox is one of those games that few have heard of. An obscure game due to the legend of Diablo, but for those who have played it, it became a favorite fast. Nox is a great hack and slash game that brings in various elements from other RPG games of the era and uses them perfectly. The three storylines are fun and each class is unique. I was overcome with glee when I realized this was brought to GOG. I had lost my serial number for my discs and forever wished someone would bring this great cult classic back.
If you purchased this, there are still a few Multiplayer server up and running. You will learn to love the fast past world of NOX.
I've been playing to this day since 2000 and will continue to play this game. I'm so happy GOG listed to my forum post and finally added NOX.

I remember the first time I played Nox: I was blown away! Three clases, each with it's own story, each new armor or cape could be seen on the character (unlike any other, or ay least 98% of the RPGs of the time). Me and my brother enjoyed it then and are enjoying it now (we are playing it now, again, with all 3 classes)!!!! Buy it, you'll not regret it!!!!!
Well, I'm on Chapter 4 now and I have to say this game has surprised me. I expected it to be very good since it's by Westwood and from what I'd read about it, but it's not just good; it's superb!
Highly detailed environments and rich in sound, music, loot, story, gameplay. Everything about this game makes it apparent to me that it was a labour of love, as were all Westwood titles.
Must-buy for any Diablo fan or RPG fan in general.
Whoever said before, that Nox is Diablo clone, is just an idiot and cant be a critic. As Nox`s only similarity with D is the same genre, apart from this its a great original action packed rpg that will surprise you and it will also change your mind about arpg, most people think its mostly about item hunting and grinding, this is how you can describe D series, especially latest D3, abomination of a game. Nox isnt about items and grinding! Its about action with an added little funny story to it. Whats more there to say, you know that game is definetely worth a try, if its an ARPG with 3 different endings.....yeah
