Promising game with a good narrative

It's a promising game with a great Viking setting and an interesting narrative, but there are improvements that need to be made, such as performance, lack of optimization of cutscenes, and character movement when traveling in groups. There are also some glitches where arrows don't appear when fired and some issues with death animations. This does not detract from the good work that has been done, and if these issues are gradually fixed, it will become a well-rounded game.

Since I first reviewed this game, I've begun to question my purchase. I mentioned some performance issues and graphical glitches in my original review, which are STILL not fixed, despite an update already being rolled-out on Steam. Second-class gamers here are we? The game has crashed on me more than once and the bugs are really starting to show. Right now, a refund is definitely a consideration...

Can't wait for the patches.

The potential is there, but the game doesn't seem to be complete right now. It would be great if the player has greater control in resource collection. Unless I'm missing something (which is possible) but I can't seem to collect wood, or food, or anything at will. It makes everything feel scripted rather than the player's choice. There's also still a lot of glitching: Currently doing the bog quest, and my party is in the middle of the enemy camp, but there are two enemies just chatting while and another looking into a chest during the fighting. They won't engage, so I can't finish the fight.

Reminds me of Cyberpunk 2077..

..since Norse: Oath of Bloods launch is as bug-infested and glitched as Cyberpunks was. I think this is nigh unplayable at its current state, which is real shame. Seriously, options screen gets bugged and mixed with ingame screen as one poor ugly ale in drinking horn. Game world is one glitchfest, lights flashing in places where there shouldnt even be light. Landscapes are disappearing before my very eyes when they please. Ooh, and the optimization. Now thats a fun one - at least if you imagine your fun as getting kicked to the head by ale mezmerized donkey while getting swinged around by neighbours Björn impaling you with his hunting spear. Yeah, theres some optimization for your life. Of course there are some minor things too like incorrect spelling and odd model behaviour at times, but underneath all this rubble there is very intriguing game waiting to be discovered. It has promise and sounds like a good narrative game with great ideas. Unfortunately for now, you just have to settle for that piss ale your cheapskate uncle only pours for his guests.

Nice but short (17 hour)

I like it. Bugs besides. I like story , managment ,battles. Only 17h all done. Should be more crafting, Gunnar have only 3 swords per game. Non unique for him except preorder. Helmet destroyed cutscenes , which show him bald in many videos (hide headgear not work propertly. I like all upgrades system but all only was usefull for gatgering material for another upgrades, I would like for example if I upgrade blacksmith tu full to be able to craft better weapons, armors and so on, alas only what you find in mission as blueprint can be craft but really few (and chest dont highlight much so even I look hard in all missions I could miss blueprints). Hope they make another story and make it longer, more crafting to be able use better weapons trought game.
