Description
Noita is a magical action roguelite set in a world where every pixel is physically simulated. Fight, explore, melt, burn, freeze and evaporate your way through the procedurally generated world using spells you've created yourself. Explore a variety of environments ranging from coal mines to freezing wastelands while delving deeper in search for unknown mysteries.

  • Pixel-based physics: Every pixel in the world is simulated. Burn, explode or melt anything. Swim in the blood of your foes! Enter a simulated world that is more interactive than anything you've seen before.
  • Your own magic: Create new spells as you delve deeper into the caverns. Use magic to crush your enemies and manipulate the world around you.
  • Procedurally generated world: Explore a unique world every time you play. Discover new environments as you adventure deeper.

  • Action roguelite: Death is permanent and always a looming threat. When you die, don’t despair, use what you’ve learned to get further on your next adventure.

Noita is being developed by Nolla Games, a company set up by 3 indie developers, all of whom have worked on their own projects in the past.

The three gents in question are:

Petri Purho
Petri is best known as the creator of Crayon Physics Deluxe. In his youth he also made a lot tiny freeware games. He has also made a bunch of board games, but he hasn't told about it to anyone. So please keep it a secret.

Olli Harjola
Olli released his first commercial game The Swapper in 2013. Besides indie games, he also dabbles in music, live visuals and making programming languages.

Arvi Teikari
Arvi is also known as Hempuli. Over the years he has released a lot of tiny experimental games, so many in fact that he is unaware of all of them. One of the games he remembers making is Baba Is You.

Blissfully Painful

This game...this game man. It can make you so mad. Like really mad. I don't think I have considered pitching a controller as often since my NES days. The best advice I can say in a Noita run is that don't get to comfortable because you can die in a second. However there is alot intrigue that goes with any playthrough. Every pixel is interactable and with that and so many spells, elements, wands, and so on you will never have a playthrough that feels the same. It keeps you coming back for more. Even though it hurts alot of the time....

Pain and Physics, but with Wands and RNG

I own the game on Steam mainly due to convenience with friends and it was on sale before I found out GoG hand a copy. The best way to describe Noita? It would be for people who enjoy the sensation of curb stomping their vital organs if you think of attempting to get to the end, but do think about funny moments they had from dying and starting from the beginning for the hundredth time. I have a friend that died 300+ times before he figured out how to truly becoming a destroyer or worlds, while I found out that you can have an Overpowered wand that can wipe out an entire level that included me in it due to not having a certain item that prevents a Demon core of a wand to blow up in your hands, and even then each run will be more different each time you play it, be it with friends via mods or by yourself. The graphics, mechanics, and gameplay I think work great. So much so that there are only crashes when you finally find the certain wands, spells, and perks that create generate a crash when destroying the very world you exist in can crash your game, but that also means you understand the tricks to provoke a game crash. Overall I think the game that really rewards people who are willing to experiment and are okay with dying a lot in order to complete and entire run which will feel like an huge accomplishment itself. It is not a relaxing game if you have the mindset of thinking you will breeze through it the first time. Have the mindset of the journey being more worthwhile than reaching your destination to show whatever deep int the mountain who has a wand and who's boss. I personally think it is worth it to invest your time in (especially when it comes on sale), and try it out this DRM version of the game, but if you wish to have easy baked in mods in steam workshop that cover all our basses as the community is quite active add different modes and characters for this game. PS: I gave it 4/5 stars due to not beaten a single run when I posted with this review. Will give a 5 stars as a sign that I efforts blowing up an entire level with a wand build paid off. Update: I beat the a the first time and I feel so good about it this game it can be done!!! XD

I was entertained for the first hour. Interesting mechanics and great physics but I don*t want to continue.

This game is hard

I have been playing for a little while and have been really struggling, it's really fun though and I love talking about the new coolest wand build that I made
