No Man's Sky: Breach update is here!

Inspired by the adventure and imagination that we love from classic science-fiction, No Man's Sky presents you with a galaxy to explore, filled with unique planets and lifeforms, and constant danger and action.

In No Man's Sky, every star is the light of a distant sun, each orbited by planets filled with life, and you can go to any of them you choose. Fly smoothly from deep space to planetary surfaces, with no loading screens, and no limits. In this infinite procedurally generated universe, you'll discover places and creatures that no other players have seen before - and perhaps never will again.

Now including...

Play with all major updates since launch: Foundation, Pathfinder, Atlas Rises, NEXT, The Abyss, Visions, the 2.0 BEYOND update, Synthesis, Living Ship, Exo Mech, Desolation and the 3.0 update, ORIGINS, Next Generation, Companions, Expeditions, Prisms, Frontiers, Sentinel, Outlaws, Endurance, Waypoint (4.0), Fractal, Interceptor, Echoes, Omega, Orbital, Worlds Part I (5.0), Worlds Part II, Relics, Beacon and VOYAGERS (6.0).

And now with added Cross-Save! No Man’s Sky now supports Cross-Play and Cross-Save between a huge number of platforms including PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox One and Series X/S, Game Pass, GOG, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, PlayStation VR 1 & 2 and PCVR.

Available for PC and Mac (see recommended and minimum specs for details).

An epic voyage to the centre of a shared universe awaits, allowing you to explore, trade, fight and survive alone or with friends.

Embark on an epic voyage

At the centre of the galaxy lies an irresistible pulse which draws you on a journey towards it to learn the true nature of the cosmos. But, facing hostile creatures and fierce pirates, you'll know that death comes at a cost, and survival will be down to the choices you make over how you upgrade your ship, your weapon and suit.

Find your own destiny

Your voyage through No Man's Sky is up to you. Will you be a fighter, preying on the weak and taking their riches, or taking out pirates for their bounties? Power is yours if you upgrade your ship for speed and weaponry.

Or a trader? Find rich resources on forgotten worlds and exploit them for the highest prices. Invest in more cargo space and you'll reap huge rewards.

Or perhaps an explorer? Go beyond the known frontier and discover places and things that no one has ever seen before. Upgrade your engines to jump ever farther, and strengthen your suit for survival in toxic environments that would kill the unwary.

Share your journey

The galaxy is a living, breathing place. Trade convoys travel between stars, factions vie for territory, pirates hunt the unwary, and the police are ever watching. Every other player lives in the same galaxy, and you can choose to share your discoveries with them on a map that spans known space. Perhaps you will see the results of their actions as well as your own...

Plays like a buggy MMORPG

While plenty of positive or critical comments have been made about NMS over its release lifetime, my expections and experience with it come from a completely fresh install. My biggest criticisms and observations are: - No boxes. Despite being able to make fancy sci-fi bases, there doesn't exist the ability to make boxes, chests, lockers, or storage devices of any kind. Why? WHY?! I don't know, and I don't care. Even Minecraft had boxes! - Buggy. I have repeatedly seen spaceships land on top of/into another spaceship at trading outlets on my second planet. They clipped through and stayed 'merged' until one departed. - Forced time-wasting. Many instances of grinding, mass accumulation of rare/random/sparse resources, etc. While the large scope of the game (multiple galaxies!) may force some grinding, even something as simple as an auto-pilot or single task AI auto-completing would turn the game into a more relaxing experience. The first time something is done in game is novel, while mass repeating it quickly loses that appeal. Automation suggestions: fly-to, walk-to, make X of Y, refill/recharge when items at Z charge percent, etc. Mabe some basic drones? - Limited upgrade appeal. Upgading the player's ship, scanning devices, etc, does not install a sense of wonder or progress, but merely small, numerical changes on a very limitied incline. There are no noticeable tiers, plateaus, or grand stages where the player's experience changes due to significiant power-ups. Instead, it is all the same experience - but just slightly faster, longer, or stronger. Buy and play the game with these points in mind, please.

I wanted to believe...

The "redemption arc" meme was appealing. But I have to put that aside and judge this game as it exists today. Regardless of what a disaster it may have been at the start and how far it's come, it's just not very good, even in 2024. It's a big empty universe, with nothing interesting to do. And it's buggy too. Not terribly, nothing I couldn't overlook in a better game, but it just adds to the disappointment. What really pushed me over the edge was how it handles mods. While other games in need of content are happy to lean on modding and are often saved by it. No Man's Sky only grudgingly allows mods and shows you an obnoxious warning every time you launch it with any installed. I have to conclude there's really no hope for this game. You might be able to kill a day or two half-enjoyably on it, but save your money for something better I say.

Good, but extremelly glitchy.

The issue with this game is that it is excellent when it works, but after each update I'm always getting a bunch of crashes, I have to re-fix it every time. So I would avoid if you're not comfortable with googling how to fix a game every time it updates.

The game is fine now whit new update

If your graphics suck in this you need some 3200 ram. I use a rx strix 480 gaming card( a little better than a gtx 1060) and it runs fine. Your monitor also makes a difference. If you have 60hz monitor without freesync your not getting the best performance. I have 500 hours so far playing this game; do you I like it?

Black Screen of Dooooooooom (Year 2020!)

I honestly was not going to buy this game. It had a really bumpy start, and many people were upset with the game. I told myself "I'm seriously never going to buy this game". So I forgot about the game, and time went by, and I kept seeing it go on sale here on gog time and time again. I was curious, but I still wasn't convinced. Eventually after watching No Mans Sky get some updates, and seeing it get this recent huge 3.0 Origins update (I just purchased it a couple hours ago at 24th September 2020) and it was on sale on gog for %50 off from $59.99 to $29.99. I thought it was a really great deal, but then part of me was like "why is a $59.99 game being sold for half off at $29.99?" But then I was like "nah, I'll finally give it a try, it's just thirty bucks" No big deal right? Well.... Install the game, start it up.... annnnnd...... Black screen of doom. Believe me when I say, I tried so many things. I tried so hard to find a way to fix it. Apparently I'm not the only one. I can't believe that this is still an issue that hasn't been resolved. https://steamcommunity.com/app/275850/discussions/1/360672304897519261 https://steamcommunity.com/app/275850/discussions/0/3185654583878132923/ https://www.reddit.com/r/NoMansSkyTheGame/comments/8qq0zt/no_mans_sky_black_screen/ Eventually I found other websites that have NO AFFILIATION to with the makers of No Mans Sky. (just being clear here) These websites were suggesting some pretty dumb and risky things in order to fix the issue, with many people replying to them saying that the solution offered had not only failed to fix their game, but also broke and corrupted their whole entire computer. At this point I decided to just simply stop and not trust any of these websites before I did something stupid broke my computer before the release date of Cyberpunk2077, and simply get a refund. It hasn't been 30 days. It hasn't even been. one day. I should have listened to the reviews warning about crashes and bugs. They're not lying.
