Inspired by the adventure and imagination that we love from classic science-fiction, No Man's Sky presents you with a galaxy to explore, filled with unique planets and lifeforms, and constant danger and action.
In No Man's Sky, every star is the light of a distant sun, each orbited by planets filled with life, and you can go to any of them you choose. Fly smoothly from deep space to planetary surfaces, with no loading screens, and no limits. In this infinite procedurally generated universe, you'll discover places and creatures that no other players have seen before - and perhaps never will again.
Play with all major updates since launch: Foundation, Pathfinder, Atlas Rises, NEXT, The Abyss, Visions, the 2.0 BEYOND update, Synthesis, Living Ship, Exo Mech, Desolation and the 3.0 update, ORIGINS, Next Generation, Companions, Expeditions, Prisms, Frontiers, Sentinel, Outlaws, Endurance, Waypoint (4.0), Fractal, Interceptor, Echoes, Omega, Orbital, Worlds Part I (5.0), Worlds Part II, Relics, Beacon and VOYAGERS (6.0).
And now with added Cross-Save! No Man’s Sky now supports Cross-Play and Cross-Save between a huge number of platforms including PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, Xbox One and Series X/S, Game Pass, GOG, Nintendo Switch, Steam Deck, PlayStation VR 1 & 2 and PCVR.
Available for PC and Mac (see recommended and minimum specs for details).
An epic voyage to the centre of a shared universe awaits, allowing you to explore, trade, fight and survive alone or with friends.
At the centre of the galaxy lies an irresistible pulse which draws you on a journey towards it to learn the true nature of the cosmos. But, facing hostile creatures and fierce pirates, you'll know that death comes at a cost, and survival will be down to the choices you make over how you upgrade your ship, your weapon and suit.
Your voyage through No Man's Sky is up to you. Will you be a fighter, preying on the weak and taking their riches, or taking out pirates for their bounties? Power is yours if you upgrade your ship for speed and weaponry.
Or a trader? Find rich resources on forgotten worlds and exploit them for the highest prices. Invest in more cargo space and you'll reap huge rewards.
Or perhaps an explorer? Go beyond the known frontier and discover places and things that no one has ever seen before. Upgrade your engines to jump ever farther, and strengthen your suit for survival in toxic environments that would kill the unwary.
The galaxy is a living, breathing place. Trade convoys travel between stars, factions vie for territory, pirates hunt the unwary, and the police are ever watching. Every other player lives in the same galaxy, and you can choose to share your discoveries with them on a map that spans known space. Perhaps you will see the results of their actions as well as your own...

A whole new game.
With version 1.3 so much has added and been changed that the experience is almost unrecognizable. There is a new, more coherent story If you passed on the game from initial bad reviews, consider giving it a shot now as it's closer to what was originally promised. The game continues to be in development so it can only improve more from here.

An experience like no other.
This is one of those games that is not for everyone. It's a 'chill' game about exploration. If you are a gamer who enjoys fast paced COD / Unreal style games - look elsewhere. If you enjoy a relaxed pace, discovering gorgeous planets, flying, trading, crafting, space adventures - pick this up. It's an experience like no other. Hello Games has redeemed themselves with the 1.3 update.

Pleasantly surprised
After having read so many bad things about this game, I held off buying it for a long time. With the current -60% sale, the 1.3 update (which adds some things which are important for me), and gog's 30-days money back guarantee I finally decided to buy and try it. Performance is okay on my system (Windows 7 64bit, 8GB RAM, GeForce GTX 1050 Ti at 1920x1080 with a medieval and below minimum specs Core2Duo E8500 at 3.33 GHz), comparable to e.g. Elite Dangerous. The only visual problems for me are pop-ins of terrain features and asteroids, and I had to disable motion blur to avoid stuttering when quickly turning while on the ground. The gameplay is quite different from some of the games this title is often compared with, but I didn't expect this to be another Elite Dangerous or X Rebirth. Some things are simplified, e.g. trading (I think the prices at the space station of a system always stay the same) or mining (just shoot at things, the resources will fly into your inventory), but there are many other things to do or manage that keep me engaged and occupied. Some things are much better than in Elite Dangerous: - Being able to save the current game and restore to the last three saves (because this lets me freely try things which otherwise I wouldn't do). And there are other save slots available, e.g. for a creative mode. - And very important: Having a DRM-free version available. - There are many mods available. I haven't used any mods in No Man's Sky yet, but since I used many mods in other games (e.g. the X3 games), this may come in handy at some point. In short: In the two days since I bought it I have played it much more than I should have, and enjoyed it much more than I expected.

The 1.3 update has made the game so much better. I haven't been able to stop playing because there is now so much to do while remaining fun at the same time.
