This has to be one of the buggiest games I've played in a long time.
- UIs (the power bar) sometimes doesn't render.
- The bar sometimes doesn't change as the power is used.
- The character you control can sometimes faze through solid matter and get stuck outside the screen.
- The controls bug out and you can't jump diagonally left or right or neither.
- The character can jump through objects you are suppose to pick up so you need to do it multiple times.
- The game forgets objects you've picked up so you need to get them again.
- Areas have invisible edges that the blocks you push around gets stuck on. Resulting in that you have to move them back and forth to try to get past them.
If you can live with the horrible QA you have a lovely little game under it all. The puzzles are tricky but logical. Can definitely recommend, but be prepared for bugs.
Night Lights is a fairly simple puzzle game, with a basic mechanic of light and darkness - light makes certain objects disappear, or activates certain objects, like elevators that allow you to reach new areas in a level.
Later on you get the ability to double jump, and then to dash, but it's only used to reach previously unreachable sections of the levels.
Levels are fairly linear, and the game world is fairly small, but it gets milked for all it has.
Once you get the ability to double jump, and later on to carry a light of your own, you're forced to revisit the same levels and hunt down the areas you couldn't reach previously.
All it manages to achieve is to make the game feel cheaper.
Night Lights also feels far too long for what it is - objects and puzzles repeat themselves far too often, and the light-dark theme doesn't allow for distinct looking levels - after a while every level blends together.
The only difficulty appears towards the end, when you have to dodge projectiles while jumping from platform to platform, and trying to activate the various abilities you received at the same time.
Very bad to kb player, I don't care how a game itself but this point should make a 0 star rated! I was been rejected by the 1st-time setting, it mad me by its bug. First it has no mouse pointer, and must using arrow key not wasd, and if you set it to wasd it called "menu control" will against "game control", and cleaned the arrow control so you CAN'T CONTROL IT ANYMORE then YOU MUST FORCE RESTART the game. gross.. Last time I hate a game like this is Cristale it as same trash as this game.
I can't get past the first portal that says "press x". I put the block on the trigger, and it says to press X on the portal. I do an nothing is happening

Wanted to give this a try despite the reviews but I must agree to the terrible layout + a bug that makes this unplayable.
I gave up after fiddling with keybinds for 20 min, and then having to look up a guide just 10 seconds into the actual game afterwards to see wth I did wrong and why it didnt work,to then realise its bugged.
This game is played by a dev who only uses controller and dont give a flying squirrel about the rest of us when he designed the whole layout and menu.
They also didnt bother to research what normal kb and mouse players use for standard controls, proven by the default layout such as Run being set to ctrl (?!) Lamp being set to shift and Dash on Z etc.
Default moving is arrow keys.
Here is the issue tho that gives the user a lot of annoyances.
There is no mouse input at all.
If you change something, say movement to wasd instead of arrow, u still have to use arrow in menu b/c it wont allow it to be used in both places.
It wants a Replace confirm which I kept fumbling with b/c it wants that to be with Enter, and again there is no mouse input. So I spectacularly managed to assign Run to my Enter, which then forced me to do an alt f4 b/c I couldnt select anything at all to change it bk or reset to detault, b/c Enter was now my run key....
This is so stupid. There is a reason most games lock esc and Enter or at least allow dual assign for important things, such as reset to default.
You also cant use esc in the menu to go bk and only the keys u have assigned to the MENU buttons will move up and down, in my case arrow keys, which again cant be used dually with ur game binds, such as wasd. So you end up having to click up and down a whole lot to go to a setting.
Then the gamebreaking bug someone else in the reviews here mention. The first portal is bugged and u cant progress, it just doesnt work! I did exactly as in videos and it IS bugged.
Pls remove this game from the store untill these things are fixed omg.
