New Super Lucky's Tale

This game was fun to play through. It's pretty easy but it does seem to be targeted toward young kids. You generally don't need a whole lot to unlock levels so low-skilled player could beat the game. Even collecting all the things wasn't super challenging. I'd recommend this game for young kids or anybody who just wants to relax. This game is kind of like Banjo Kazooie or Yooka Laylee but easier and with less jokes you'll understand when you get older. Characters speak in gibberish that sounds somewhere between the voices in Banjo Kazooie and Simlish from The Sims. You pick a level or puzzle by finding it in a hub world. In the level you gather collectibles (Coins, Hidden Pages, Lucky Letters) on the way to a Clover Page at the end. Each goal checked off with give you a Clover Page that unlock the Boss stage for that world. You can go back to any worlds you've already unlocked. Collecting all the Clover pages in a world unlocks and achievement and a new costume to buy with coins. Here's some random bullet points: * Fun time for all ages * Kid friendly story * Easy difficulty, relaxing * Surprisingly large number of achievements * Solid controls * Bright and colorful * Nice sound design * Charming characters with fun voices * A variety of level types; 3D platforming, 2D platforming, 2D autoscroller, and more. * Macho Man Randy Savage as a Yeti

Pretty good game. The graphics are really good for an older game, and it runs well on older hardware. The game is similar to Mario 64: several worlds with different stages to complete. Each stage contains multiple (optional) objectives to accomplish (collect X coins, find a secret page, etc.). The objectives are clear and detailed, which I like. The game is divided into two parts: the first part is the main game with a story, and once completed, the second part consists of multiple challenges to complete. With the exception of the final boss, the first part is sorely lacking in challenge to the point that it becomes a bit boring. It quickly becomes apparent that the game is going to be easy as soon as you see the "speed" at which the character moves. At first, I thought the character was walking and looked up instructions to know out how to run :). The second part is more difficult, but lacks a story and, at some point, is more of an exercise in frustration than anything else. It's still fun, though. A good game to buy if you like this kind of 3D platformer. It certainly won't be your favorite, but you should have a good time.

MS (barf) and Steam work fine. GOG, joysticks don't work right. Semi-common issue on all platforms depending on controller. Legion Go S is a no go for me. Really wanted DRM Free.
