That Baldur's Gate 1 feel

Probably the closest thing to a Baldur's Gate 1 experience in Neverwinter Nights Engine. The main quest isn't anything original but the module has well made side quests. Writing is amusing and relaxed. I did maybe half of the side quests and completed the whole main quest, which clocked me around 10 or so hours. Overall a good experience, and definitely better than the original campaign or Shadows of Undrentide, but I expected maybe a bit more concerning the hype the module has had over the years.

Fun Little Adventure

Nice little NWN adventure, but nothing special. Writing has a bit more comedy to it than normal, which is either good or bad depending on your preferences. Locations and combat are pretty standard NWN fare, but the overall plot and variety are good. People get excited about the map but really it's just a visual, the game overall works the same as NWN always does. Anyway, it's just a fun little NWN module, no more and no less.

Top notch premium module

This and the newly released Tyrants of the Moonsea are two formerly cancelled premium modules for Neverwinter Nights that were expanded on and released in full for Enhanced Edition. The wait was worthwhile as Ossian Studios clearly put a lot into both of these premium modules to the point where they clearly surpass all others! With intriguing encounters, awesome combat, a thoroughly entertaining plot, an awesome soundtrack, and a length of around 25 hours, Darkness Over Daggerford really succeeds on pretty much every level. At this point it is hard to say which module is Ossian's best, since they have proven to be really good at designing them (NWN 2 Mysteries of Westgate is also outstanding). But the ambition behind Darkness Over Daggerford is particularly impressive.

Pretty, innovative, and poorly written

This module is extremely pretty, with maps that are laid out well and some really interesting use of the toolset. Some excellent innovations that I have not seen in any of the official modules include a worldmap, random encounters, and time-passing rests. Unfortunately, this module is marred badly with poorly written dialogue, which at times seems to just spew lore at you and other times reads like the journal of a teenager. There's a lot of inconsistency in the dialogue options you can select, with your character switching between clueless dolt, serious scholar, and self-righteous hero - sometimes in the same conversation. On top of the writing, the gameplay is frequently interrupted by unnecessary cutscenes that will often drop your character directly in front of the enemy, and these cutscenes may break the game entirely if you escape out of it. Lastly, the stronghold was an extreme disappointment. The way your character comes to control it makes little sense, it is not used for any of the main plot, and the few side quests it generates did not feel like they needed to be attached to the stronghold at all. It's clear to me that this was just added in as a callback to Baldur's Gate 2, with no thought to how it would fit in to this module.

A sense of adventure!

Fun romp through Daggerford and the Sword Coast. Reminded me a lot of the exploration and discovery of Baldur's Gate 1 which I really liked. The module was polished and well put together. The main plot drags at times, but there are a lot of fun side quests and the plot starts to pick up speed towards the end.
