I have really come to despise the rogue-like-rogue-lite-rogue-ish (whatever) genre. If I had a dollar for every one of these dull, boring, sarcasm-driven, hipster-ass games cranked out by any and every 2-bit developer I'd be a very rich man. This is among the very worst. Slow, dull, and pretty freaking ugly to look at on top of it's slow dull gameplay. The aiming is the worst culprit, on an analog controller it still feels like you're only aiming in 8 directions, it's jerky too. The overheating/reloading element, JUST STOP HAVING IT IN RUN N' GUNS! IT'S NOT STRATEGIC! It's an annoying waste of time. I never had to deal with that crap in Smash TV! It this game didn't have really good music, I'd have nothing nice to say.

The game is very reptitive, first playthrough was on normal difficulty. After the 2nd boss the difficulty spiked insanely. Went from taking almost no damage per hit, to taking 1/4th my health per hit (680 health at that point). Third boss did me in, not because the boss was hard, but because of the level design on the boss. The adds and conveyor belts prevented me from getting a good angle on it. Music is great, aesthetics are great, part selection is very broad for multiple styles of play. Its not something I would continue to play, and playing it more than once a week would cause it to get old very quickly. I got it on sale, and if you like this sort of thing, I would recommend you do the same.

I got this game on sale but its defintely worth full price if your a fan of the genre. I've played a lot of rouge likes, such as binding of isac and enter the gungeon, and this is refreshingly different. The gameplay is solid; I really enjoy the fighting, though i've been playing on easy so its been a lot of steamrolling. The gameplay loop is shoot a lot of robots, get gear, equipt gear, and repeat. The gear customisation is excellent which makes the pacing very enjoyable as i spend a bit of time between each level to set my character up well. The theme is fantasatic, from the music to the art style which i feel is subtler than other games in the genre. The biggest selling point for me is the 4 player local coop, which i can't wait for considering the solo experience is solid. So if you like coop, then i recommend this at full price. As a solo experience, id recommend on sale, or full price if you like the genre a lot.

Addictive but needs another way to save the game, in inter-mission was trapped some minutes because must hold enter and I press instead. Very good game, and runs perfect on linux.

Gorgeous pixel art, might some of the best I have seen. It has a banging soundtrack also. It has lots of depth, you can choose from an overwhelming amount of weapons and add ons. The only negative for me is its hard to see what coming, I wish the map was zoomed out more or gave you the choice to zoom out, you find yourself getting shot by enemies that are not even on the map yet. Other than that it's a great roguelite, an absolute steal for the price on sale. Also check out the devs other release called ScourgeBringer, it's another great roguelite.
