Murder! A fabulously wealthy game designer is found dead outside a castle in rural Vermont, and soon evidence shows that this was not merely a freak accident attributed to local superstition. Now it's up to you to investigate and apprehend the guilty. Play as unlikely partners -- ace sleuth Detective Guy and Cleo the clue-sniffing dog to explore the castle grounds, search for clues, and question suspects. Can you solve the case?
This is a well-polished, short game that I found a lot of fun to play. You get a nice little murder mystery to solve with a few twists and red herrings. There are even a couple of optional treasure hunts to complete.
Graphics and sound effects are nice, and the only technical issue I had was a little bit of text slowdown during the Epilogue chapter.
Overall, I thought it was a very cute indie game, well worth the price. I look forward to more from the developer!
A short bite-sized piece from what looks like a new developer. Linear without a lot of deductions required, and finding hotspots and 'secret spots' for the riddle can be finicky. But I do love the idea and it's well coded. Looking forward to what the developer comes up with next!
This is an easy game to get in and start playing. You can move the detective and dog around with the mouse or the arrow keys. There are few keyboard commands to remember. Space bar brings up the next bit of dialog with someone, and ESC key gives access to saving, map, clues found, etc. You have to continually hit the S key to toggle between the detective and the dog. The dog is the only one that can find clues, but the detective is the only one who can talk to suspects. You walk around the grounds of a large mansion looking for clues and questioning suspects. Certain areas are only unlocked after talking to someone or finding a particular clue. A lot of the suspects have reasons they could have wanted to kill the victim. At the end, when you have found all clues and talked to all suspects (sometimes you need to go back and question them about a clue), you get to explain your solution to the crime. This part is very forgiving, if you get it wrong, it says to think about the evidence and try again. You have to identify why each suspect would may wan to kill the victim, then identify who did it and why. I spent an evening then a morning finishing the game, and I am not an expert gamer. Fun if you like exploration type mystery games.
Short but pretty decent murder mystery. The mechanics work well for what the game is trying to do, and the conclusions are logical. You may want to play it with a controller, though, because putting movement on the cursor keys instead of WASD (without an option to remap) makes playing with keyboard and mouse a little awkward.
As a side note, comparing the game to Witcher 3 is a little unfair, since it's a different genre. By that comparison no adventure game ever made (including Monkey Island, DOTT, Legend of Kyrandia and Simon the Sorcerer) could rank more than 3 stars at best. Which is kinda silly.
This game is waiting for a review. Take the first shot!
