big sandbox with crazy good mods how can you resist the siren song of m&b

I discovered it in 2016 and loved it. I first downloaded it from a pirate torrent and have been very satisfied with it. I bought it now a week later to support the company and GOG. I will be modding it and enjoying this great open world strategy some more. Graphics are crap, but this game is played for the immersion it brings. It is a gem.

This is the closest a game has ever come to being my dream game. It's wonderful and has been a big part of my life in a weird way. you can do anything you want, you can be a trader, a soldier, a bandit, a tournament champion, a lesser lord, or even king. and the amount of mods will keep you engaged for years.

When i first got mount and blade it was like many other GOG users. i got it free, didnt really think much of it, didnt even read reviews for it. i jut downloaded it, went back to gaming. well its been about 2 weeks and all ive done is mount and blade. I first played Fire and Sword, really got a kick out of the old school guns but it just... idnt feel good. so i was like, well lets see if this viking thing does anyting cool.... AND LITERALLY FROM DAY 01 I HAVE BEEN HOOKED. its like old school star wars battlefront meets skyrim meets lords of the realm. You start off so small, barely able to fend off a group of 4 looters... only to become an arena battling bastard capable of slaying 40 men before dropping yourself! but thats not even the best part.... like the other mount and blade games, this game revolves around ARMIES! You amass an army, battle your enemies to grow stronger and bring more people to your cause! so much customization that its super easy to get lost in roleplay. the many different factions ensures you a Sh1t-ton of replayability, the difficulty effectively changes the game every time you turn it up one notch. if you enjpy stratedgy games then this is a game you will love.
