The mixture of cold Atlantic water and coarse sand in your mouth brings you back from unconsciousness. Surrounded by the wreckage of a boat’s hull, you can only draw one conclusion: your vessel has been torn apart by the submerged rocks. The secrets of the island must be uncovered if you are ever going to find a way to escape. Where is everyone; is the island really uninhabited; and what is lurking within the isolated caves?
A disturbing psychological thriller set in the bleakness of an abandoned island, combining exploration and in depth puzzle solving.

First-person horror(?) puzzle/walking simulator. The story has interesting premise - amnesiac protagonist wakes up on a deserted island where it's inhabitants have died of mysterious disease - but the ending lacks any closure and feels more like sequel bait. Also the game claims to be based on a true story that is bullshit admitted by the developer himself. The island has nice atmosphere and music - the little there is - is beautiful though.
There is no way to invert the mouse look? This is driving me insane. All the FPS games I've played over the years have allowed for this. I don't understand why there is no option for it here.
Certain events are not being triggered properly after I complete a task. Exiting the game and restarting seems to make the event occur and allow me to progress.
Graphics are nice, environment is cool and lighting is great. It just feels like it's not ready for prime time just yet.
But somehow it's so much disturbing having always my characters head popping into the bottom screen... any way to prevent this?
Despite this.. atmosphere is amazing!
I don't feel disturbed by the achivements. I can turn off film grain (luckily) and with 1.5 gamma, i actually can see something of the area i'm in. So thats all no problem - only that annoying head...
Just to clarify on the following points, I have not yet beaten the game. Also, I use the word 'yet' loosely, as I'm not sure I have any further desire to play.
My issues with this game are many so here are a few:
1. Gameplay: The game is very slow. The beginning forces you to walk around on a beach while your view bobs around and you move at a snails pace. Sadly, the game gets only slightly faster.
The game often requires a lot of backtracking and scavenger hunts for items that tend to blend in with the dark environment. These aspects really exacerbate the issue.
2. Atmosphere: This game would probably have decent atmosphere if not for a couple of oddities. The first being the achievements. While I disagree with anyone that claims walking a mile in this game isn't it's own feat (see complaint #1), the developers should probably reevaluate a game that needs to congratulate you for walking.
There's also the strange viewpoint. The camera is positioned on the characters head. It makes everything in the world look a bit short. I also haven't discovered any kind of crouch button to alleviate this strange height issue, so trying to position your mouse to click on certain objects can be a chore.
3. Save Games: You get checkpoints in lieu of saves. It's the final punch to the gut when you need to go but haven't finished some cryptic puzzle. Refer back to #1 to see how this is made an even bigger issue.
