Get a taste of America's "Roaring Twenties" with a bit of a gangster, godfather flavour.
Take a less than serious look at the "business" of organized crime with this hilarious game. If you fancy becoming a 'made man' and impress the Godfather with your hoodlum antics then this game will keep you glued to the screen.
Deal with gangsters, murder and bribery. See how a gang war background can be cool and inoffensive at the same time, despite the violent content. Humorous undertones just won't let you take things too seriously.
The game is also known as Constructor 2 or Street Wars: Constructor Underworld.
Everything you liked in the original Constructor and more, with a slightly different gameplay focus
Engage in illicit activities like bribery and sabotage - city-building takes a back seat here
A humorous, cartoonish setting, based on the prohibition-era United States

Played this game a long time ago and remembered having fun building up my empire. During this replay, I still had fun playing through each mission but found the game too short. I wished that there were at least a few more towns to "conquer". Overall it was a good buy and at under $10, totally worth it.
This game is hardcore. There's little explanation and the manual doesn't cover essential things. Don't play it like an RTS but rather like an RPG puzzle because you'll have to learn some rather complex mechanics by brute forcing. Not for everyone and there's not many games of this style.
The only reason I didn't like this one as much as the original when it first came out was because (iirc) there was no freeplay mode. And the campaign is hard, but also kind of short. And it functions like an extended tutorial, which is great but once you beat the campaign it lost some replay value. Now that there's a freeplay, I give it five stars. This is a challenging and unique blend of RTS and management-sim that keeps you on your toes. If they remade this in a similar quality to the remake of the original I would buy it in a second. It's my all-time favorite 1930's gangster-style game.
I really enjoyed the game, despite the relatively short campaign. If you enjoyed Theme Hospital, Dungeon Keeper, Rollercoaster Tycoon or similar games, then I think you will enjoy Constructor and Mob Rule/Street Wars as well. The artwork is wonderful, and I love the small animations. There are small animations for the gadgets as well. Go to a building and click on the gadgets installed. Then click on a gadget and a small animation will play. A shame they hid them away like that, because the gadget animations were very visible in Constructor
A good challenge on hard. I finished the game for the first time in 12 years, first on easy and then hard. It took me 28 hours, and I had a lot of fun. So you get a lot of gameplay for a few bucks.
Works on a modern system, but center the view in your graphics card's settings to get proper 4:3 aspect ratio. On a 4K display, enabling integer scaling will give you a crisp image.
Two tips:
- Junior the Saboteur can destroy the plumbing of a building. If it happens to you, then you need to act quickly. Get a few tenants as well as a fixer on the property. The tenants will pick up the poop in the garden, and the fixer will then fix the plumbing. But you have to do it at the same time. If you are too slow, the water will ruin the neighboring properties, and then there is no choice but to destroy all properties and build new ones. At least, I haven't found a fix for this situation.
- Beat up bums and drop them off at your business to increase profit. But the bums are not happy, unless you upgrade a business. This is very important to remember. You need to upgrade your business, before the bums will use money. Until then, they just enter the premise, become annoyed and cause stress for the tenant.
Got to the last level and it will NOT complete the last objective. Restarted the level 3 times and it just won't finish. Up until that point I was really enjoying it. Sad to see the game is bugged. :(
