Might and Magic VIII
I had played all of the games in the series to come before this, which I loved, so when I got to play this one it was with an "at last, another installment" attitude. I really wish the game was longer, and harder. Ideally, it should have a couple difficulty settings to choose from, like 4+5 had. This game is great, but if you really know how to play Might and Magic it's likely to be very easy. The soundtrack is superb, maybe the best of the series, and the engine runs the best between 6-8. The mapping notes is really well done, with you being able to type in your own notes on top of great notes the game gives you. The game has a lot of replayability, more than you'd expect even from this series in fact. This is because you make only one character, so you will naturally wonder what it would be like to play it with a different one, again and again. In as far as the difficulty goes, because it's easy (after you get good at it), you can more reasonably play it with a small party. You control the difficulty, thus. The story and the locales are very enjoyable, with several interesting towns and the elemental planes have their own levels with dungeons.
