Excellent game
MM7 is an excellent game, I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 for two reasons: - I liked MM6 more - There are some bugs (or features?) that make this game a little annoying. Some of these: My party setup was Knight/Monk/Paladin/Sorcerer. At my first run I did not learn the bow skill in the first map, Emerald Isle and I could not pick it up later in the game, none of the weapon shops offered the skill. I had to restart the game, learn the skill for each of my characters except for one, (because I did not have the money) and to my greatest surprise at my second run I was able to pick up the skill at the weapon shops outside of Emerald Island. I had a similar problem with the spells. No matter how many times I've visited the master or the paramount guild of water I could not by the Loyd's Beacon spell - which made travelling a bit annoying. (Especially since half of the cities cannot be visited by Town Portal. Btw. the Town Portal spell is also a bit hard to obtain since it needs a master level in water magic, which comes a bit late in the game.) MM7 is nonlinear, which is basically a good thing but on the other hand it can lead to some problems. I took the champion promotion a bit late in the game (Win 5 battles in the Arena on Knight level). Since the monsters are generated based on the actual levels of your character, I often had to fight dragons and titans which was a bit overkill, I had to try it several times. I have read it among the other reviews that you need a cleric to complete the game - as I found out a cleric is indeed useful for a particular quest since only he can learn grandmaster body magic which saves your characters for eradication. I did not have one, and I had to try the quest several times. Since I had a Paladin who had a grandmaster mace skill I was able complete the quest since he could paralyze the problematic monster - but it was still annoying. Despite the above MM7 is a good game, I can only recommend it for trying.
