Unfortunatelly, cant play in decent fps on QHD Ultra settings, but when I do purchase the 5090 32GB and a whole set of new PC I will return and play every of the Middle-earth titles, as it is in fact one of the best games I've ever touched.
In the hellish lands of Mordor, on the very south side of Middle-Earth, the power of the dark lord Sauron grows stronger. His army of Uruk-Hai getting bigger by the day. As consequence of his reign of terror, his Black Captains, composed by the Hammer, the Tower and their leader, the Black Hand, killed a family in Morannon. One of their victims, the Captain of the Black Gate, Talion, was destined to have his revenge. His body was reanimated by the spirit of the creator of the Rings of Power, Celebrimbor, looking to finish what he started many eras ago and stop the Dark Lord from destroying Middle-Earth.
Start off, game is great, great gameplay features, great story, really shows you the development of Mordor if you're a LotR enjoyer but you don't really have to know about the universe itself, the campaign holds up really well alone. Graphics are a little bit dated right now but honestly they never look old enough that it actually feels bad to watch, character designs were on point, just feel like after a while it gets a little bit repetitive, especially if you focus on the secondary quests and missions (the fact that they're limited also have a part on that) and there were a few bugs here and there that didn't matter much but the fact they happened kinda frequently was a little bit of a bummer.
It's kinda short if you just rush the main story, even with both DLC's, but if you go for 100% it will take some of your time (I recommend it tho, the experience was great), combat mechanics vary a lot, the constant grinding of new mechanics felt a little overwhelming at times but they help change the pacing of the game, the difficulty of fighting the Uruk escalates really well throughout the whole thing and in my honest opinion, unless you do it for the missions you don't really want to ride a Graug.
4.7/5 stars!
This game borrowed open world design from Ubisoft and combat from Arkham series. This combination (with nemesis system) makes it a very enjoyable experience. Yes, it's basically orc killing simulator, but you get to play with Mordor's hierarchy. Add some neat wraith powers and you're in for the treat.
Quite old yet heavy on my storage although that wasn't what turned me off.
The game, or rather, the MC Talion, doesn't control well, he's supposed to be a swift ranger with magically enhanced speed yet I feel like I'm controlling a tank even if the animations are all flashy.
Game and combat look really fun it's just not fun to play.
+Settings and controls are clearly designed for consoles with limited options.
It’s a generic open world game with a barebones plot that’s just unenjoyable to play. On first glance the combat resembles the Batman Arkham series, but the feeling is entirely different: simply put, it’s bad. The camera wobbles on every sword thrust and it’s located too close to the player character so not all enemies are visible, which is annoying.
The map is littered with side quest markers, where you fight against hordes of orcs but this gets old very fast. Story missions seem to be located map width apart from each other, and you can only traverse on the ground, which is incredibly slow and tries your patience. The player character has a ridiculous running animation which is just painful to watch and experience. This tedium, along with the ugly environments simply discouraged me from playing any further.
