Metro Exodus

Not because it's a bad game, it's not.. But having played the 1st two metro games you come to expect certain things. The game has a few large maps that can almost be taken for open world (they're not but it almost seems that way) It almost has a fallout flavor.. or maybe stalker games (I haven't played) But what I found really disappointing was the stroy, the 2033/lastlight both had psychological elements to the story, this game there it's really absent till the final level and then it's laid on kinda thick to try and make up for it. The story telling has been a strong point in the series and this game has more dialog for sure, but it's really uneven the first half of the game has kind of weak dialog imo. Also characters have long pauses between lines which makes them feel robotic.. more so you will often run into situations where 2 conversations are ongoing making it hard to fully experience. The same system is slightly improved.. but i stress.. SLIGHTLY. You can now climb over things but it's inconsistent when it works, speaking inconsistency the stealth is really bad in this game where NPC's dont' see you when they should and shouldn't see you when they do. Graphically the game looks good though and the day/night cycle is well done (if you don't mind always having full moons for some reason) I found many spelling errors, floating objects and objects missing collision data. It seems as the size of the levels have grown the quality was sacrificed. This is a real shame because this the most immersive of the series. But it was bad enough I had to reduce a whole star.. it's to rampant to be excusable. The DLC's are generally good, The Two Colonels helps piece together late story elements. And Sams story was action packed. If you're a metro fan im sure you'll want to play this but it's got a different flavor than previous titles. It's not a bad game but it doesn't out metro.. 2033/lastlight.. and it doesn't out fallout.. fallout :/

Ok maybe not completly original, but assembled well. The game is more liner than most AAA games but it does have more open world sections. This really is a plus because the experience is more tailored. great game if you are into shooters and stealth games.

This is a decent followup of Stalker (both the video games and Tarkovsky's movie). Great ambiance, decent weapons/gameplay. Worth it, including the DLC that offer some perspective. It covers lot of possible outcomes of a nuclear fallout.

Played the main game twice, once normal edition, once enhanced as soon I got a new graphics card and loved it. The game is different to the previous ones as t is somewhat open map design. It mainly consists of 5 large levels from which you can explore 3 to a great extend on your own liking. I had no crashes at all on both editions, so maybe this was fixed in the releases I played. Also no idea why jet_sextus could not figure out how to save the game (???). You just can't save in combat or if there is a save already going on. I did not like the DLCs that much. Sam's Story is a pretty tough straight shooter part. OK but not great. In The Two Colonels you can watch (!) the father of the boy from the main game die for about 2 hours. Almost no game play there just watching dialogues an cut-scenes.

As a huge fan of the metro series and completed the last 2 games (metro 2033, and metro Exodus) I had high expectations for this game and was hoping the atmosphere, story, and gameplay would be a slam dunk. Not only does it excel at all 3, but it exceeds my expectations and is a major improvement over last games in every way. The graphics are gorgeous with beautiful lightning, effects, high attention to detail in the environments, great looking character models, this game definitely delivers in the graphics department. The story is the most immersive in the series. You truly get attached to the characters in this game, and truly want them to have a great ending and some of your choices can actually lead to their demise if you are not careful. I don't want to spoil anything so all what I gotta say is if you played the last metros this games story will take you on a emotional rollercoaster. The gunplay is great, with the weapons all having a punchy feeling to them, and you can choose to be lethal or non-lethal which effects the ending you get. Crafting is important in this game for ammo due to it being scarce and some situations require stealth over guns blazing due to the odds being stacked against you. I was never a fan of the karma system and it returns in this game, but it's way better due to it not being as punishing as it was in the last games. Overall I strongly suggest this to fans of atmospheric horror.
