Having a Good Time with It!
You could either say it's an RPG without a battle system, or a Point-and-Click game that's designed to look and play like a traditional, 2D RPG with a top-down view. Walk around, explore, talk to characters, and figure out where to go and what to do. The game is most focused on its plotline, and telling its story. Honeydew, and some of her friends, work at a Melon Soda factory; her best friend disappears, and she decides to go looking for him. In your adventure, you'll come across a political campaign (legalize melons!), a street gang, and a mice cult; you even go through the slums at one point. The humor is cynical and ironic, like they're aiming for the Undertale demographic. I'm digging the lo-fi/chiptune jazz-styled soundtrack, and the retro green, monochromatic visuals! If you'd just like dispense with challenge and focus on an immersive world and plotline for a change, you can do a lot worse than Melon Journey: Bittersweet Memories.
