Medieval Dynasty is a survival RPG that manages to stand out in the oversaturated market that it occupies. By combining ideas from several other popular franchises, developer Render Cube has managed to create a genuinely unique product. Its story hardly stacks up against AAA RPGs like The Elder Scrolls but it's good enough given the game's many other strengths.

Like some sort of peasant Animal Crossing, Medieval Dynasty casts us in the role of mayor of Dysentery Village. You'll slowly grow from labor-intensive shacks to a semi-self-sufficient hamlet through the sweat of your brow, building a dynasty that will last generations. You'll just wish your peons would pitch in and carry their own water...and stop eating the buckets.

Became addicted quickly

What can I say? This game really grabbed ahold of me and didn't let go. I like these types of survival games. There is quite a bit of monotony with it, but honestly I think that is realistic. The price isn't bad, and if you like survival games, you might like it too.

This version is not up to date. Don't buy it here. 1.5.2.2 on GoG 2.0.2.4 on Steam. Come on GoG! I'm about done buying games here. This is a scam and a rip off.

Banished with Immersion

Definitely has a strong banisehd feel. Not a hard learning curve although managing your village is interesting. Playing with my daughter. She doesn't like feeling stressed out and likes to avoid combat whenever possible so this one has been a really good fit for us.

Good not great.

This is a pretty good version of the "open world survival crafting" genre re-hash that's been going on for the last decade. But it's still an "open world survival crafting" re-hash. If you like that style of game I'm sure you'll love this. Also the reason I gave it 4 instead of 3 stars is because most of the annoying mechanics can be tweaked or disabled in options.
