Medal of Honor: Allied Assault War Chest

Just so we are clear, the high ratings are purely nostalgia or from some idiots who actually think this game is great. This game is bad. Not terrible or unplayable, it's just bad. I really hate how people say this game is "Hard" or "Challenging", mainly because it isn't. What it is, for most of the game, is broken. Most of the level desgin is tedious as all hell. The hitscanning enemies are out in force in this game. Getting shot and having you screen rocking around is annoying but makes sense in a way of letting you know to take cover. That being said, there are many times the game pushes you into open conflicts with multiple enemies and no cover which makes it a roll of the dice to complete. Team AI is trash. Some objectives are to keep teammates alive, only to watch them run out into the open to be killed and fail the mission for you. Sometimes enemies spawn behind you in areas you just cleared out. And with all this, the game legit makes it so YOU have to do everything. One level in particular had me running from one machine gun to another across the room to hold off an attack. The only pros I can think of are how smooth the game is (Thanks to the Quake engine) and how enemies don't take as much damage to die compared to other MOH games. I wouldn't recommned this game. But if you do end up playing it, be warned, this game was not made properly.

Is there a trick to getting it to run under Windows 8? Cannot play it, it crashes when opening :(

I wasted good, hard-earned $$$ on this disaster of an attempt to be a game. The controls only work 1/2 the time, and GOD FORBID you try to re-map!!! This game punishes you brutally, and then just kills you off... I have been a gamer for 30+ years and this, out of hundredas of games, is one of the absolute WORST!!! It tempts you to play for hours, then when you have more hours in the game than GOG will refund you, IT ALL-OF-A-SUDDEN BECOMES UNPLAYABLE. THIS IS ROBBERY, and a real sh*tty way to squeeze money out of good, decent gamers. F/U, MOH AND DEVS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You did not outsmart me; you lied, cheated and STOLE FROM ME; IT DOES NOT TAKE ANY BRAINS TO DO THIS! ALL IT TAKES IS THE WILLINGNESS TO STEAL OUTRIGHT. YOU DISGUST ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
