As fun as it gets
This is a great action/adventure, spiced with bizarre corky humor a-la Neverhood, you could say it spawned the next TPSs to come, incredible adicting and with a great control, buy it if you´re lookin fro a great "shoot-em-up" game

In my top three games of all time
Original and surprising in a way that very few games are now. Having played it when it came out I don't imagine that it would have as great an impact on people coming to it twenty years later, but look, people rave about Deus Ex and the craftmanship of that game is horrible compared to what you'll find in MDK. A common knock against MDK is that it's short. Compared to a lot of other games it is. But instead of having dozens of cookie cutter levels to stretch things out it presents rich and highly diverse levels. Quality over quantity is what's happening here. And the game is quite challenging on the first play though as you try to work out how to proceed. Originally there was no save game feature and playing that way is certainly a great way to keep you on your toes. After multiple playthroughs, yes, you get to know the game and can cut through it quickly. But there's certainly a lot of high adventure and enjoyment to be had here before get to that point. BTW I hated MDK2. It was such a departure. I'd rather they'd just done MDK Part 2 - more levels.

Fast paced shooter
A game like this you don't see often. It is funny, fast paced and it keeps you hooked for a very long time. The graphics are dated but when you get into it, you just forget everything else. There's not much of a story, but a game like this does it really need one? The only thing which bugged me was option to save was invisible. But thanks to another commenter I now know that you can save games using F2 and load games using F3.

Fun, mindless, funny, but hard.
MDK is hard. Like, really hard. So hard in fact, I can't beat the first level. That's not to say I didn't enjoy it, it was a lot of fun, but if you're not up to the challenge, perhaps reconsider this one. Also, don't have jump and fire on alt and ctrl, it can make the game crash (screen flip).
