Master of Orion: Collector's Edition

I don't expect much of this game. From the description I think StarDrive 2 follows the spirit of Master of Orion 2 more. It lacks tactical combat, but it is very MOO-2-esque in most everything else, including free-roaming hyperdrive. StarDrive 2 does have balance and AI issues though. If you more prefer a blend of MOO 2 and GalCiv2, try StarDrive 1 instead. StarDrive is structured (1 'turn' is a fixed unit of time) pausable realtime. StarDrive 1 & 2 are steam only.

Still in development, and tactical battles, multiplayer and the tech tree need some work, but I'm giving it 5 stars for the level of polish it has for beta. Very addictive.

Why? Because they're nostalgic, they have rose tinted glasses on, and cant see whats happening TODAY. its simple. Games that were re-created 20 odd years ago, simply just cannot be re-made into what they used to be. our computing architecture is just vastly different now, than what it was back then. Times Change, Games Change, Audiences Change. You want it to keep the feel of the old game? it does that. Take your rose tinted glasses off!. You want something new? it does that, adding features that other games have implemented, and they work, GREAT. The people giving it low scores, are people that just dont understand what a good 4x game is anyway... or never truly grasped what it was like to play on the hardest difficulty, back in the day. Do not listen to these people. This game is solid, and is only getting more and more solid as the DAYS pass, yes, days, not weeks. 5/5

i just came back t ocheck on my 2 negative reviews - 2 ABORTIONS - this game + Titan lords ONLY to find them to be removed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOG you just LOST one of your most loyal friends + customers + advertisers ;((((((((( Over 1k steam friends and 100+ curator groups i have never seens reviews to be removed except most swearing ones even than if they got explained point they were left alone. but what you DONT remove are FRAUD REVIEWS like the one by vasili.i that claims this new AntiOrion game is BEST game ever made and he is member of gog -what a coincidence - exact day as game became avaiable on site LOL. Good game! Mostly remake of Moo2, which is the best of the series so far. But space battles have no tactical aspect and you can not travel freely between systems i range. At least not yet (beta 0.5.something). And I would definitely like to see Linux support, Windows is... meh.
